Affordable Non-'Cookie Cutter' LI Venue?

I am looking to get married in summer/fall of 2015 or 2016. My fiancee has a huge family, so we may have close to 200 guests. We will be paying for most of the wedding ourselves, so I am looking for a venue that is relatively inexpensive (hoping for $100 or less pp).

I can't stand the typical catering hall that has multiple weddings at once, and I would like something that is simple, elegant, and possibly rustic (I originally wanted a barn wedding, but most barns on LI can only accommodate 120 or less, and tent weddings get too pricey). Ideally I'd like something with lots of natural light and wood floors.

Any venue suggestions (with prices if available)?

I would suggest checking out the Lessings venues. They have all inclusive packages that work out to be around that price range. The package includes using their vendors though, so I don't know how you feel about that. I am doing a package at Smithtown Landing, and so far love all of my vendors. Oh, and I know that at least a few of them, if not all, do one wedding at a time.

Not sure how affordable it is, but I know someone who got married at Country Fair Entertainment Park:

The lessings definitely have a lot of great venues. We also looked at Stewart Manor Country Club (right by Garden City) and the ballroom is all wood and has a super rustic feel. FH fell in love with that place. And actually they are how we found complete weddin packages in East Meadow which has been a great cost effective company to work with! Good luck in your search!

Milleridge Cottage is definitely what you are looking for and so affordable and the room seats up to 300 something, but I only had to guarantee 100 people for a Friday night!

Look into the Bayview House in Bayshore. The room holds 250, 1 wedding a day and isn't your typical hall(that's why I chose it lol) food is excellent too!

Re: Affordable Non-'Cookie Cutter' LI Venue?

The Inn at New Hyde Park is great! I'm a little partial but I was looking for a mansion or a unique venues. I found they were either too small for out 200+ or I would have had to bing in all the food and furniture. The Inn is somewhere in the middle. The cocktail room is unique (the Tuscan room) and it was remodeled with mansion feel. I have quotes if you are interested. BTW: the picture online do not do it the justice it deserves.

We looked into the Hallockville Farm out in Riverhead originally too- so I completely understand your vision with the rustic barn... and it was so out of our price budget- we decided on Giorgios. A day time wedding- and its open and just fit everything we wanted. We are doing a Sunday ceremony at 11:30am - this was the compromise to keeping the cost down while still getting what we want! Good luck! :D

Timber Pointe Mansion was very nice and had a lot of natural light, beautiful grounds, wood floor in the reception room and a fireplace. Not over the top rustic, but I thought it wasn't so 'cookie-cutter' like you say you like. We thought the cocktail hour space was very small and we are planning a March evening wedding so we can't count on using the outdoor space. If you happen to be looking at a warmer month, check it out! The price they gave us was pretty good too. I thought the bridal suite could use a lot of updating and expansion but if you plan to get ready outside of the venue I would say it's not too big of a deal. Maureen there was SO nice, offered to print menu cards, look in Pinterest for ideas, very enthusiastic!

Also, Old Field Club is BEAUTIFUL and has the rustic feel but I think a notch or two up on price from a Lessings venue.

I know I LOVE the Old Field Club from what I've seen online but most reviews say it can't fit more than 140 comfortably
