affordable simple bridesmaid dresses on the web???

My wedding is in the spring of 2002 and I've been browsing for simple affordable bridesmaid dresses and have come across nothing but frills and just dresses that will never be worn again. Does anyone know of any places on the web where they sell simple yet affordable dresses????

affordable simple bridesmaid dresses on the web???

When I was in your shoes, planning my wedding last year, I found the website http://www.bridaldiscounters.com/ They seem to have alot of what you find in the major dept stores at almost half price. If you have the time to wait for shipment and someone that can hem the dresses (and know your size...they have measuring charts or if you see and try on a dress somewhere and know youre size, even better..!!) I had found a wedding gown on that site for 500 when the one i wanted was $850. I didnt get it because of the time factor, i only had a few months to go. I was more than willing to pay the $850, i didnt want to go over $1,000 on my dress, just my opinion, and i couldnt beleive the price difference. They returned my calls right away, were very polite and very informative. I didnt check for bridesmaid dresses on this site, but im sure they will be better prices than any dept store. What price range are you referring to ? My other suggestions would be DAVIDS BRIDAL (they have a website also).or going to the Bridal District in Manhattan. Good luck !! :) anna

affordable simple bridesmaid dresses on the web???

I suggest looking at RK Bridal. I was in a wedding and got a bridesmaid dress there for less than $130 and it was simple and got lots of compliments. They also will beat any price even if you bring a web ad or ad from Oregon! I know they had this thing where you pick your size (they give you the mfg sizing chart) and cannot use their alteration services and you get a discount. Check it out www.rkbridal.com I am not sure if you can buy straight from the web. I know lots of people who used them and all had a good experience. (Even for wedding gowns. My friends was under $600 and it was perfect for her!)

here's one

I posted this the other day, but check the Chadwick's of Boston site www.chadwicks.com. They have a nice simple gown in about 12 different colors for $79. The top is sleeveless, with a fairly wide strap (can wear regular bra, pin it just for a little insurance). The top is satin (empire waist) and the bottom is crepe. Comes with a matching scarf, good for covering shoulders in church.

Good idea Christine S

The dress you are talking about looks very pretty. I don`t really understand the concept of a bridesmaids dress needing to be custom ordered, fitted perfectly etc. Believe me, this is an afterthought. I got married in March and their dresses were from the bridal salon with alterations. The dresses were $150 each but alterations & taxes brought them up to about $210-220 each. They were platinum and the color suited both ladies and the color and style is wearable for them again but in retrospect, they could have spent less and still looked just as gorgeous.

I just took a look at the on line catalogue and of course that bad credit card of mine jumped out of my wallet and orders 3 items. BAD CREDIT CARD BAD!
