Flight to Africa Arusha / Lake Manyara Lake Manyara is famous for the opening scenes of Out of Africa and
Hitari (movies)
Ngorongoro Crater Ngorongoro Crater is an old Volcano which 'blew it's top' about 3
million years ago. What's left is this huge Caldera, floor of the
volcano. It is its own ecological system, meaning it has forest,
lakes, plains, swampland. Over 30,000 animals live in the crater and
are able to sustain themselves on the land. It's really it's own
'circle of life'.
Shifting Sands Volcanic Sand that moves 5 meters per 5 years. It never mixes with the
regular sand, just slowly rolls forward. Pretty cool phenominom.
(can't spell sorry)
Serengeti Part 1 The big thing about the Serengeti is the GREAT MIGRATION. 1.5 million
wildebeast, 250,000 gazelle, 250,000 zebra follow the rains around the
Serengeti (Tanzania) into Masa Mari (Kenya) in a big 500 mile circle
per year. We were in the thick of the migration surrounded by 1,000's
of animals ... it was amazing.
Serengeti - Part 2 Pictures of Kope's (rock formations) ... On the african plains it's
completely flat all around you and then there these rock forations that
come right out of the ground.
That's the airplane we took, OYE!
Zanzibar Island - Stowntown Zanzibar was very involved in the Slave Trade back in the 1800's ... we
went on a tour and saw the International Slave Market and slave
quarters. It was very moving
Zanzibar Island - Beach The Indian Ocean is absolutely beautiful! The water color is that of a
pool.
