After 14 weeks, when....

After 14 weeks, when did you stop feeling 'fat'??? I'm @ 15 weeks, and curious when I'll finally feel like there's a lil one inside, and not feel like I'm just gaining weight.

Hmmm.... well it hasn't happened for me yet and I'm 20 weeks! I still feel like all I'm doing is getting fat! But I do feel the baby moving so I know it can't ALL be fat. I know at least 1 lb of it is baby.

kptoys... so u just always felt fat?

jimmysbride... oh man... I knew you were weeks ahead of me, and was hoping you'd respond that u felt more baby than fat!

ARGH!!

oh, one more Q: when does one's tummy start getting hard? I'm assuming that's when one might feel less fat....

You just have to put it in your head that it's not fat it's baby. Stop thinking of every pound as fat. Think of it as more weight that your baby is gaining to get nice & healthy for you!!!

Don't get me wrong... mentally, I know that it's all for the baby, but physically, it feels like it's just me gaining weight.

I didn't stop feeling that way until my belly popped and I started to look pregnant rather than that I needed to do a few sit ups.

Once I started fitting maternity clothes properly it helped alot.

No, I didnt ALWAYS just feel fat. I stopped feeling JUST fat at about 5 months when the belly really started to show. But being almost a month pp I just feel fat now cause there is no baby in there.

Wow, 5 months... it seems for far for me (15 weeks along). But it's understandable feeling that 1 month PP... one question for you: I know you had a c-section, have you returned to being out & about yet? I know that having a c-section puts one out of commission, but one thing I've wondered about is for how long. I'd like to get back into the swing of things in my life (outdoor activities, sports, etc) asap... but of course, health-willing.

I'm waiting on this tummy getting hard thing too to see if I feel less fat and more pregnant. It sorta starting to happen...like the belly is rounding out a bit.

It took me about that long to feel pregnant because people couldnt see that I was pregnant.

I was out and about 2 weeks after I had him. With Emma I was out of commission a lot longer than I was this time. A repeat Csection, for me, was a lot easier to recover from. No matter what you arent supposed to strain yourself for 6 weeks after birth.

ChiChila,

I am in the same boat as you--15 weeks and feel so frumpy!!! But get this, as if I wasn't already feeling so bad about my image, a lady at work said to me, 'You're getting chubby.....' earlier this week.

I was fat pre-pregnancy, so I don't really feel any different and I'm 14 weeks now, but I can't wait until I actually look pregnant.

I saw family this weekend, and was told the same thing! Then again, some didn't know that I was pregnant, so when I dropped the bomb they were like 'ooooooh'... lol.

We all can't think that it's fat, because it really isnt. It's all baby, or for baby. Had we not been pregnant, we wouldn't be 'fat'... but it's all psycological, and I hate feeling 'fat'. SHOW ME THE BABY!
