After a lot of thought and consideration...

I'm DEFINITELY STILL AN 06 BRIDE!!!!!!!

We had a long talk with my family tonight, because we were planning on making an appointment to go beg for our deposit back from NRC, but in that talk, we decided we're going to keep our date no matter what. Even though I'm in college until May, I'll be working hopefully for 6 mos before the wedding, and we'll just make it happen any way that we can. We had thought we HAD to postpone, so we shot ourselves in the foot a little by buying a car and a laptop but we're going to keep our date anyway! When we were talking to my family, I felt like maybe it wouldnt be worth it, etc. But afterward whenw e decided that that was what we were really going to do, I cried tears of joy! We're both so happy and I know that even if were going to be in debt and we can't live in a luxury apartment or anything, it'll be so worth it! I'm so happy. And..OMG I have only 15 mos to plan my wedding. All I have is the hall! I'll need your help!

Good for you!

If you keep postponing life for when you're 'ready' you'll never live.

We kicked butt on saving money for certain things without looking cheap. But I also had to take a second job to help pay. My FI takes overtime a bunch too. What's working hard for a year compared to spending the rest of our lives together? Good luck!

My fiance has been working so much overtime, but it will be well worth it in 6 months !!!!!!!! It's hard budgeting money..

Yeah Jennifer, I'm so happy for you. You can do it, just set a budget for each vendor and make sure you don't go over it. FM if you need any vendor help.

Yeah at first I had 2 vendors where I said there is no budget, the sky is the limit, and those were photo and gown. But now I'm going to stick to a budet with them. We found a photogrpaher we're happy with, and if they still have our date, we're going to book them....before I wanted to check out these NYC pultizer rpize winning photojurnalists that would ahve cost $10K+. Now I realize, I did find a photograher I can be happy with for a reasonable price, so I'm going to stick with it!

Also, for the gown. it's one day. I don't need a Reem Acra or anything. I'll be so happy, I'd glow in a brown paper sack (but hopefully I can find a happy medium between the two)..

06ers SO rock! I was so exicted last night I couldn't sleep.

Now we have to go put 50 people back on our listy who we just cut when we were gonna cancel NRC and go somewhere smaller. On the rbight side also, we have a high minimum, which means I think there may just have to be an LIW brides table!!!

Ya know I wish I could also invite you all but it is impossible. I may have to have people on a stand by waiting list in case there are last minute cancellations. We don't have a b-list. People always cancel. I could see me walking down the aisle with all of you rockin on with me!

For me it's just one way to turn a disadvantage (high minimum) into an advantage (rocking party!!!)

Maybe at the end of 2006 once we're all married, we'll have a special GTG to 'celebrate' our weddings together, or we'll wait until we all have albums and pass them around, etc. I think we should definitely do something. Maybe if we had enough people, we could throw our own WOTY. We'll find arestaraunt that has a private room with a $20 pp dinner, we'll all pay for our own, and have a mini reception for all of us together!

Oh I didn't hear about that! I have been so boggd down with school I haven't been online much. That sounds great. That reminds me, I need to do some shopping for the holidays!

We haven't really found a way yet. but we're working on it, and in a way I think if we postpone it won't really make it better b/c there's no immediacy. Now I really have an incentive to save every dime, lose weight, plan, etc. I feel 100000x more motivated than i did planning a 2007 wedding. Because THIS was the date we booked, you know?

And I'm really lucky that my sister and BIL offered to loan us whatever money we fall short, and even help us with deposits. We're trying to come up with our own deposits though (which means we have to book vendors slowly) and then whatever we're short at the end if anything, they can lend us. I'm just determined to make ti work.
