After Daytime Wedding

After our wedding which ends at 5:30, we will be hanging out at the bar in the hotel.
iwould like to mail out the invites out to let some guests know where we will be.

At the bar we are not paying, anyone have a suggestion on how to word the invite?

Can you just do it by word of mouth? Just so there is no confusion as to who pays for what.

i'm doing it by word of mouth before and during the wedding. IMO doing invites for an after party at a bar makes it more formal than necessary. Trust me, the word will get round to the people you want to be there.

Only reason I did not want to do it word of mouth was because many of my friends have children and are getting babysitters. I felt that if they knew ahead of time they could make appropriate arrangements.

IMO...I would do it by word of mouth... You don't know if you'll feel like partying after the wedding until...after the wedding...
Keep in mind what time you'll be waking up and running around all day...you might want to just crash at the hotel with DH then.

We're playing it by ear...

if you do not want to go by word of mouth then when you put the location and time also put cash bar.. we are paying for our bar to stay open after the reception 11-1am and we are just telling everyone its a cash bar..

I made up little slips that said:

After the reception, we'll be heading to the rooftop pub at the Harrison House. We'd love to see you there. Directions: Take LIE to...

I thought this made it clear that we were going there, not hosting a party. We had a good turnout, especially considering how far Harrison House is from Lands End, and everybody seemed to understand our intentions.
