When I ordered my dress, they said it would take 9 months for it to come in and my wedding was exactly 9 months from the day we ordered it.... Obviously I mentioned this to the girl ordering my gown, and she said not to worry.
Now, I know I only ordered my dress about a month ago, but I really want to call and make sure that everything on schedule. I don't know what to do...

I would definitely call! hound them every second you have....make sure everyone knows you in the salon and make sure everyone knows when your wedding date is....it is your right to make sure the dress comes in with plenty of time left for alterations!

I only called to make sure they actually ordered it!
ETA: I ordered mine about 9 months before the wedding and they told me it would take 5-6 months to come in so I wasn't concerned.

It doesn't hurt to call and make sure the order was processed, I do recommend that. But to call often...I would not do that, they won't take you seriously after a while. Have them give you an estimated delivery date, they should have this about a week or so after they placed the order, and then start bugging them again, about 2 months prior to the wedding.
Don't worry too much, and it's your right to the information about something so important!

They say you should call about a month after you order your dress to make sure that it was indeed ordered, and if they can give you a more specific ETA on it.

My bridal salon told me that they could tell me the actual arrival date a few weeks after I ordered it. Give it a call, it cant hurt.

I called a few weeks after I ordered it to make sure THEY ordered it and to get an estimated delivery date.
I then called about a month before the date to see if it was still on schedule and it was.

your wedding is in May. So if you don't hear anything by Jan or Feb., I would call.
If they said March then I would call next month to check and then again in December.
I called about 3 months after to check they ordered it in white b/c mine was available in another color.

I wouldn't call too often. Call now to make sure the order was in & then know it is a rush & aske when they expect it to be in. Then call exactly then. Ther is nothing they can do once it is ordred & befor eit gets to them.

They said the dress would come in 3 months, so I called at the 3 month mark. When they told me it wasn't in and couldn't tell me when it would be, I asked them to have the owner call me. She called and told me it would be another 2-3 weeks, but still 3 months before my wedding.
I didn't want to pester them, but I was VERY firm when I spoke to them about it.

I ordered my gown from Kleinfeld's. i ordered a little over a year from our wedding date and they told me they have it come in 8-10 weeks prior to the wedding.

I ordered my dress in the begining of January. It was supposed to be in by begining of August. So I called the salon and they said the designer was backed up. Not a big deal for me because I still have 3.5 months. But it sounds like you will be cutting VERY close. I would make sure you talk to the manager so they take care of it. Like my situation, it's the designer that might hold things up for whatever reason.

I started calling teh month they told me it was suppose to come in. Once the middle of march comes & you haven't heard then I would start calling again--once a week till it comes in.
