After Party

After Party

I've seen people mention that they're having an after party...we've never done that in any of our family weddings and I'm curious....what do u consider an after party, who is invited, and where do u usually go????

maybe if people are going to the same hotel as u and ur fh then u could hang out after the wedding?? dunno never went to one either

We may be having one at FH's father's house. My wedding ends at 5 pm so there is plenty of time left to par-tay!

We are doing it pretty low-key. I have coordinated with the hotel to keep the bar open and staffed and we will be ordering acouple of heros if people would like to munch.... people will just go to the hotel afterwards to hang out ofr a little bit. we are doing this because we would like to see our out of town and out of country guests a little more than we would get to at the wedding.

We are having a party the day after the wedding, at a local pub in the town where we are getting married (DW in Ireland) also going to get a band for it. We are inviting everyone bc a lot of people are flying over from America.

For all our friends weddings, there is always an after party back at the local Knights of Columbus. The bartenders are all friends too....so the bar stays open very late.

We have buses taking guests from church to the reception and then back to the church that night or to the after party......in the past the after parties have gone until 6am or so.....I think FH and I will be calling it quits around 4am or so when we have a limo come pick us up for our first night (morning) as husband & wife!!

We're doing an after party at the hotel we blocked rooms at. We arranged for the bar to stay open an hour or two later and it just gives us a chance to mingle with close friends and family that we dont have a chance to really chat with during the wedding. It doesnt have to be anything crazy/outrageous if you're on a budget.

Hummm I dont think we are gonna do an after party I think we will be sooo tired from the long day .. I can Picture it now.. I dont even know How i will stay up till the end of the party LOL i will be running around alll Day then church at 3p.m. ch at 6:30 party ends at 12:30 a.m. which means by the time we leave the hall & get to out Hotel it will be 1 - 130 LOL I WILL be soooo tired ..

The entire BP and some friends are staying at the Inn at EastWind that night, so after the reception it's to the bar in the Hotel for the after party

We're not technically having an after party but we are paying to keep the bar in the hotel where we've blocked rooms open until 3am. So anyone staying at the hotel is welcomed to go to the bar after the wedding to hang out.

I don't think we're having an after party. I imagine that I won't get to spend as much time with my FH during the wedding as I want...I'd like some alone time with him afterwards

My FMIL is throwing us an after party at their house....just some finger food and drinks. We are including a card in the invitation telling people about it...everyone is invited.
Our wedding ends at 6:30 pm, so we wanted to keep the party going!
The hotel is like 5 minutes from their house, so that is convenient.

OUR RECEPTION ENS AT MIDNIGHT AND WERE HAVING A 5 HOUR OPEN BAR SO WHO EVER IS NOT WASTED BY THEN IS COMING OUT WITH US TO HIT UP THE CLUBS!!!ITS GREAT BECUASE 80% OF OUR GUEST ARE OUR AGE SO IT WILL BE A LONG NIGHT!!!CANT WAIT!!BESIDES ITS NOT OFTEN EVERYONE GETS 2GETTHER

i kind of wanted one but this weekend we went to a wedding and they had an after party - i didnt particularly care for it - i think im gonna just wanne be with FH after all the excitement

well i am not having an after party at a different place BUT we are getting an hour AFTER the Viennese hour . . . its from 1:30 to 2:30 and they are going to serve all like bar food like mozz sticks, fries, wings, potato skins etc. and then we will pay more like 'club' music

mind you this is all FH's idea and ONLY if it fits in the budget. . . but everyone i tell thinks its a cool idea - i am SO NERVOUS ( like nightmare nervous) that no one will stay. . .i would cry

usually after the wedding when some friends and family are not done celebrating go back to the hotel and continue the party! From my experience There seems to be an after party but usually by the time we get there everyone is done (or is sooo drunk cant continue) My FH is planning on an after party... we will see what happens!

Actually my FH brother got married a couple of years ago and we went to the after party ~ but his weddig was in the afternoon & ended @ 5:00 pm so we all continued...it was fun!

i went to 1 yrs ago.....after the wedding we all went to the hotel where there was more appts to pick on....and open bar for another 2 or 3 hrs! it was great bc it was a young crowd! They also had a friend DJ...most of cost a nice penny! But again we had a good time!!
