Our wedding ends at 1am ... I'm thinking if anything, we are just going to have a few people in our suite.

Re: after party?

I just went to a wedding, and they had an after party held in the MOH and BMs suite. The fridge, bathtub and sink were stocked with beer and liquor. It was the BEST time!

Maybe try renting a suite or room at the hotel and hold it there

we had an after party at the hotel with the guests that stayed there. Everyone was up pretty late and we got the bartender to stay open a 1/2 hour later than she was supposed to.

We have the same situation...Personally... I really wouldn't want people in my room...

Parents house, nothing crazy just hanging out having a few drinks with people we don't get to see too often. Maybe we will get a hero or something like that.

Same hotel, same wknd We're not doing an after party since we leave for the Honeymoon, from Newark the next afternoon, and we're gonna have to leave at an un-godly hour due to the NYC Marathon on Sunday Nov. 6th FML w/ that one...

I'm from that area so I'm semi- familiar w/ the local bars/ clubs (haven't lived there for a few years tho)... You may want to:

- add an hour to your RH, and change the LED lights, bring in something extra, (dancers, cigars, stilt walkers, etc for your after party)

- Look in to the Rare Olive, on Jericho, kinda across from Oheaka, not too far from CHCC... I had my 24th b-day there 5 years ago, & was able to have the loft (2nd floor w/ view of lounge) for a fair price, including the cocktails...

- Glo is not too far away either you can call them & get a few tables, or maybe your own section

- Contact Gengi/ or Franks Steaks and see if they'll let you rent their private room for a bit... Gengi is literally across from the Hampton Inn, and Franks Steaks is like 5-7minutes away by foot.

ugh... my place too. I am so annoyed with the hotel I chose, it has been nothing but problems. This is what I got back after I asked about renting a room .. 'With the meeting space we do not rent it out after 9pm since there are sleeping rooms above the space. After your wedding you can use any of the lobby area to meet and greet with your guests'
I dont want to meet and greet .. I want to party...
I am so with you on this one. I am really trying to figure out what to do..

If you want to bring your own stuff, they will actually let you use their breakfast area for nothing. It's a really big space, lots of seating with tables and couches. It's in the middle of the building and away from the guest rooms, so they prefer that noise be in there since their conference rooms are right by the guest rooms and you can hear everything.

we thought about using the hampton for ours too, but honestly after feeding, boozing and providing people with entertainment for 6 hours, I don't feel compelled to spend any more money on everyone else. Just some alone time with FH

Our hotel is the Marriott in Melville and they have a bar open until 2am, so hopefully if everyone is up for it we will be partying there.

maybe it's the time of day? they said they dont' let anyone use the public spaces after 9pm. we would need it between 1-3am

After the long day you are going to have and by the time you really get back to the hotel you will probably just want to relax with hubby. Dh fell asleep within seconds of getting out of his tux. I'm glad we didn't plan any type of after party. You really don't need one in all honesty.
