Good morning, If I am planning on having an after party, only if we have guests who are interested in coming, would I put after party somewhere on the invite, would I ask people to RSVP to the after party?
Or, should I just wait to see how many people are staying at the hotel, and if a lot of people are staying, just have the after party whether people are interested or not?
What did you girls do?

I plan on putting the word out about the after party after invites go out. I figure it'll be mostly the young crowd and OOT'ers so I'll let most of them know by word of mouth, or put some sort of email or something like that together. I'm not as worried about it because its an add-on...

If your making OOT bags for your guests, you can include this information in the bags, or list it on the sign in sheet at the hotel. They usually will put up a sign that says ' Guest Of The YY/XX Wedding....'.
The guests staying at the hotel will most likely come and party- even if it's just for a couple of drinks.
This is also a way to entice other guests to get a room which will help meet your room block

We did word of mouth and ended up putting in on our website
We also put it in our OOT bags

I was at two weddings that had afterparties and they were both word of mouth. We actually didnt find out until we were at the wedding and everyone was like 'are you going to blah blah after?'. I wasnt a huge fan of this, since i would have liked to know before so i could have planed it out.
I THINK, i'm going to add it to the accomodation card in my invite. I'm doing pocket fold invite and i'll have my accomodation card say something like....rooms have been booked here and afterparty intheir bar...
I'm still on the hunt for a hotel with a bar where i can even do the afterparty

I plan on mailing out the afterparty information to people that book rooms in the hotel as well as have the information in the OOT bags so people can plan accordingly. For people not staying in the hotel, it will be word of mouth.
