After the bridal party walks down the aisle. . .

are you going to have them stand in a line by the alter?

or

will they sit?

Different churches have different feelings on this. Whichever you prefer, tell your pastor... Some will budge.. Good Luck

We got married in a church and we had a wedding mass. The BP sit, stood and kneeled at the appropriate times, just like a regular mass. I honestly don't remember what they did during the vows - I think they stood.

If you can, please, please, please make them sit. I was in a bridal party where we had to stand the entire ceremony and one girl almost passed out since it was so hot and stuffy in there. She had to sit on the altar stairs since there were no seats for us.

Can you have it so the MOH and BM stand by the alter and the rest sit, or does the entire BP have to be together?

I want to have them stand. Our ceremony is only 1/2 long.

I am having them stand- my ceremony will be max 20 mins.. I think that with you having your ceremony at your reception venue as well, and with the short ceremony, that is best.

Usually the church will tell you what is typically done - if you want to vary from that I'm sure they will do what you want,but if you are confused just ask them what is standard. The 2 priests at my church do it different - one has the people sit and other has them stand by us. Talk to your priest/pastor.

I'm Jewish and mine will be standing under the chuppah with us. Otherwise, I would have them stand, IMO, I like how that looks.

If you are getting married in a church or synogogue, they might have guidelines for where they want the WP to sit. I have never seen any on the altar the whole time in person but I've seen some pictures on here that looked like the WP was on the altar during the vows. Ask the priest/rabbi what is normally done and if you want them to be elsewhere ask if that can be arranged.
