Afternoon Brides: Start Time?

Afternoon Brides: Start Time?

Hi girls--

If your reception begins in the afternoon, can you post the start time?

My church is at 11am and I'm having a full mass. I've found the places I've looked can only begin a CH at 12, which doesn't work for me

Thanks!!

Church is St. Rose in Massapequa. We are only having a ceremony. RH hall is Jericho Terrace in Mineola. Cocktail hour at 1:00.

I'm having the ceremony there..
hospitality is at 1130
ceremony at 12
ch at 1230..

but I would think that if a rh is willing to come in early for a ceremony why not make it an early wedding instead? I would keep looking. i'm sure somewhere they'll be willing to start earlier for you.

Re: Afternoon Brides: Start Time?

I ran into a HUGE problem with this. Our CH starts at noon and so we needed the church to be at 10:00 a.m. The church has 10 a.m. reserved for funerals and we found this to be with other churches in the area of our RH. Needless to say, it was a mistake of ours to book the RH before the church and now we aren't getting married in a church. If the church is really important to you, check that they have time available. Also remember that a mass is longer and you have to include time for a receiving line, pics in front of the church and transportation to your RH. A 11:00 mass and a 12pm cocktail hour might be cutting it close.
