Afternoon wedding, but dressy---help!

Afternoon wedding, but dressy---help!

So, my wedding is a Saturday afernoon because I really wanted daylight, but I also want people to be more dressed up than what some people would wear to an afternoon wedding...not black tie, but, you catch my drift. Is there a way to politely request this on an invite? I dont even know how to refer to it, 'evening attire'?

Am i being too picky?

You can also just spread the word around to family. I would say most people dress for a wedding.

I agree, formal attire will hint that its not casual but not black tie.

I would specifically put formal attire on the invitation.

Many older people still go by the standard code that sunday day is not formal
