If the only other children invited are those in the BP than I think you can get away with only inviting the 18 year olds. But if you will have other friends or relatives bringing their children then you really need to invite the kids. And don't forget, just because you invite them doesn't mean they'll bring them.

I would say that you invite the two oldest ones and leave it at that. THey are 18 yrs old and should kinda be considered in this circumstance as an adult.

I agree. I have many younger cousins I want to invite some I'm very close with, but I feel it isn't right to pick and choose, so I think I'm just going to have my niece and nephew who are in my bridal party and not invite any kids. As much as I would love to have t hem all there are 25 of them and that is just way too many for me. I don't want to count on some of them not coming.

With kids it's all or nothing, unless they are in the BP. My FH was married once before and the only kids (very little at the time) that were supposed to be there were his nieces (2, under 3 years old). Well, one of FH's ex-wife's friends showed up with two of their kids after the his family was told that no kids (except nieces and nephews) were invited. This caused serious problems with two of his cousins for years because they had kids, were told they couldn't bring them and hired a babysitter for that day. Seriously, my MIL told me people in the family were REALLY ticked off for years because it seemed day of that they were lied to. I can't say I blame them because that's the way it looked.

My suggestion is to be VERY careful with this one. Invite the little kids because they are in the BP. But then spread the word (and make sure this is done) that you have adopted an age requirement of 18.

My BF grew up in a very large externded family. The rule was until you were 18 you couldn't attend a family wedding. She saw none of her cousins get married while she was in high school. Funny thing is they all had kids by the time she got married and she said, 'Sorry remember the 18 rule'. Of course, they didn't like it applied to their children.

I have a much older sister and I've been on the Uninvited end of that...even with an upcoming wedding this year!!!! People invite my sister and not me...and I know shes older so she knows people better than I do, but I don't think you can invite some siblings and not others, unless you're hvaing no children at the wedding, and you just invite the 18 year olds..but even then it's sketchy
