I would like to ask two of my close friends children to be our ring bearer and flower girl, they will be 17 months and 2 respectively...is that too young???

the only thing that might be a problem is 'stage-fright' when they have to walk down the aisle... If their mother is in the bridal party, maybe she could walk with them. As for too old or young, I think you should do what you want to do. JMO

IMHO that is a little young for a flower girl * RB unless someone will be walking with them. My son is 2 years old and was out ring bearer and he did not want to walk down the aisle alone. He walked with my mom instead.
My flower girl was 4 and we had no problems at all

Our FG was just over two years old, and she was an absolute delight! She's been in another wedding since, and now, she's like a pro!
