Ok so I just realized that I have a major (somewhat) dilemma. As many of you know, we're having the wedding in Connecticut. So we need to get up there soon to book our photo/video and DJs AT LEAST.
We could go up there the weekend of May 30th and look at photography/video, DJs, show our parents our RH (they haven't seen it yet), and go to the RH's restaurant.
However, before May 30th, I have SO much schoolwork to accomplish that I don't know when I would have the time to research florists & DJs in addition to all the other stuff.
However, if we don't go now, the next time we are available to go isn't until the beginning of August.
I don't think I'm comfortable waiting that long to start everything...what do you all think? Should I wait and take the chance that vendors might be booked? Or should I just suck it up, stay up late a few nights, and get up there the last weekend in May?
FH researching the vendors is not an option because he has no idea what is happening as far as that goes lol

i honestly think you shouldn't stress your self out....you should be fine if you wait until August....thats still over a year away. Most places to book up as far in advance like the vendors on LI do. You should be fine!

If I was in your situation I would probably either A) stay up late and get my school work done or B) Do my school work like I would normally do but stay up late at night researching vendors online and then calling during my lunch hour... If your afraid vendors might book up before you can get up there, maybe try calling them to check to see if they have anything booked for your date yet that way you can judge when to go...

by august you'll still have 15 months before your wedding.. so i don't think you have to be too worried.

I live in CT but am from LI. I can tell you weddings in CT are not as big as they are in LI. You'll be fine to wait.

You can definatly wait until August if you arent getting married until November. Dont stress out. Alot of girls on here (including me) are very much ahead of schedule. You still have time!

Yea I agree with the other girls, but if you really feel behind, maybe you can just research one of these vendors, (ie maybe start with just photography). But I think you have some time, don't stress and put a strain on your schoolwork.

I think it is ok to wait. Your wedding is in November so you still have over a year. Finish up school so that way you can go look less stressed!

You'll be fine....don't stress yourself out. There are plenty of great vendors out there... and the wedding circuit isn't as big there as it is here. Take your time, review vendors on a CTweddings website or something and google or yelp them. See what comes up.

Hey my fiances good friend is getting married in conneticuit because his fiance is from there. Some of our vendors are the same as theirs... such as our photographer and dj ...I know they are traveling to conneticuit for their wedding. I would try looking into vendors who are willing to travel there...ya never know. And if you wanted check out my vendors who i know for a fact are traveling. My fiances friend is getting married in sept of this year. Hope this helps =)
