First of all, have you already gotten your marriage license?

If you are traveling within 14 days, they will talk to you -- start calling to see what can be done!!

If your honeymoon is within two weeks then you can make an appt at one of the passport centers. Unfortunately if it's further than two weeks away they are not very helpful.

Call the passport agency. It's an automated line, but keep redialing if you get a busy dignal.
Where are you going for your HM ? If you are going to the Caribbean, the restrictions ahve been eased.
Go into the passport agency website for details, but CALL to find out where it is.

I'm going on a cruise with Princess to St. Thomas, St. Maarten and Princess Cays. Unfortunately my travel agent states that I still need a passport.

I'm leaving in less than 2 weeks

You need your birth certificate to get your marriage liscense. Did you apply for the passport already? If so you have the paper that proves it and I believe until sometime in Sept you can go without the passport... there have been a lot of posts about that and it's been in the news

They lifted the new passport policy until 9/30...
If you have applied for a passport prior to 9/30 you can travel w/out your actual passport. All you need is proof that you have actually applied, your birth cert. and license.

ive gone twice to the passport agency in manhattan to get my passport. Once its two weeks or less before the trip then all you have to do is call up, it will ask for date you are leaving, just enter it and then you will be told a date to go there. Then the day of it will take a few hours but you will get it the same day and its $95.

They still make you pay even when you ALREADY applied and paid and THEY are delayed??!?!?!

What a crock...

You need your birth certificates -- which the passport agency currently has. Some people only get asked for a driver's license, but technically on Long Island, you may need your BC.

However, if you have baptismal records, you can use those instead.

She already put in her application. It will work differently for her.

How can you show them your birth certificate when the passport agency has them?

Re: Aghhh Passport HELP!!!!

I have another copy of my birth certificate thankfully!! I was worried I would not get it back and I have a certificate of Birth abroad since I was born overseas so i have a duplicate copy!

Agggggghhhhh I keep trying to call the 1800 number and after about 5 minutes they say they are experiencing high call volumes and HANG UP!!!!

How the heck am I suppose to get any information??

Re: Aghhh Passport HELP!!!!

I am in the same boat, but I think slightly worse because they have yet to even start processing mine and I went about the same time as you, which leads me to believe that they lost it. I have called three times today already. The first time I called, I got a person, but they said there computers were down and now whenever I call it says it cannot process my call.

One positive is we are going to Jamaica, but regardless I still need documentation saying I went to go get it.

My thoughts are the government should have been prepared for this. They knew everyone and their mother was going to need a passport and therefore should have staffed the passport division accordingly.

The best time to call is at 6 am. I know its a pain but I was able to speak with someone everytime at that hour.
