Agh...how do I get a copy of my birth certificate???

Ok ladies I am at the point where I will be getting my marriage license. I just want to be prepared-I researched and see that you need drivers license (have) and a birth certificate (do not have). How do I go about getting it and how long does it take to get? Thanks!

IT depends where you were born. I went to Town of Oyster Bay town hall to get a copy of my sisters they mailed it in like a week or two. But because I was born in Queens I needed to call city hall in the city and they generated a copy of it. I don't remember how much it cost but I think $15-25.

I was born in Port Jefferson and I was also able to get a copy by ordering online. Here's what I found online:

Department of Vital Records
