for the past week the skin on my upper cheeks, forehead, and nose has been very dry
yesterday, my eyelids got very dry and my left eye was very swollen...
i just woke up...both my eyes are swollen and dry...but i'm tearing...and i can barely open them...i can pretty much open them enough to see my computer screen and that's it..everything is somewhat fuzzy
have any of you girls experienced this? what is happening?
hopefully i can get to the doc...i can't drive b/c i can't see..and my mom 'doesn't feel like driving'
so hopefully my dad can come home
Update: Yea, they have a 1:15 and a 3:00 and I have to wait until 3:00 b/c my dad cant get off work til then, and my mom doesn't want to drive me. lovelyyyy

Did you try any new makeup??
This happened to a coworker of mine but it was not her whole face just her eyelids and around her eyes and she had a bad skin infections. BUT the good news is all it took was some cream (prescribed) and she was back to normal in no time.

ummm your eyes are swollen shut and your mom 'doesn't feel like driving you'???? wt f is that all about? tell her you need to go to the doctor and stop being like that!
it sounds like an allergic reaction though so i wouldn't be tooooo concerned. did you use any new lotions or makeups or anything like that? or eat anything out of the ordinary?

That could be it. Or maybe something you ate? Take Benadryl right away!

Is your environment really dry. I am not sure if this would help but it may help you feel better in the short term. Turn your shower on with hot water and steam up the place and sit in the steam (kind of like a sauna tohelp your pores) Again, I am def not a doctor but I have done this before when I have had extremely dry skin.

Re: ahh what is happening to me
try putting a hot towel on your eyes and see if it takes the swelling down. i know you don't have pink eye but that's what i do when my eyes get swollen shut from that

Are you sure nothing's new? Sometime's it's things you don't realize or think about
Could even be that you've developed an allergy to something you weren't allergic to before. Are you using anything 'kind of' new makeup/soap/moisturizer-wise? Especially something you're using as part of your bedtime routine? As in something you switched to in the last few weeks/months you haven't been using for years?
I dunno, I hope the MD can tell you something!
Def take some Benadryl and see if it helps.. if it does it's prob an allergic reaction to something.. if it doesn't help, it could be some type of infection... I'm just brainstorming here. Good luck today!
PS,what's your mom's deal? lol, geez!

Re: ahh what is happening to me
the thing with your eyes sounds like you have 'dry eye'..sounds silly, but I suffer from chronic dry eye for the last couple of years. I am supposed to use drops constantly. I notice a bigger problem in the winter when the weather starts to get cold and the heat is blasting in the house. When my dry is at its worse...I can hardly open my eyes, sunlight is painful, and makes my eyes tear profusely. I also notice when this happends I sometimes get dry patchy, flaky skin on my face, again probably from the cold weather/heat blasting. If you are told to use drops regurily, do it!! I was stupid and didnt and I accidently rubbed my eye in my sleep and tore my cornea...I was never in so much pain in my life!

Either an allergic reaction or your skin is freaking out because of indoor heating.

Thanks....best thing u can do is go to the dr before u have a bigger problem...in the meantime...try flushing your eye with visine...systane is probably what the dr will tellyou to use cause visine is more synthetic....or something like that...good luck!
