I had mentioned in previous posts that it is down to Westbury Manor and Douglaston Manor. FH and I visited Woodbury Country Club last night and now we're throwing that into the mix! What I really love about Woodbury is the outdoor area--it's stunning. The banquet room was very nice as well. Bridal Suite is small but that's not a big deal to me. The menu was great--I felt it was on par with Westbury's.
Also, I had read some older posts about the customer service at Woodbury not being good. We had a very nice experience. Bob was very helpful, funny, and straightforward. Just an FYI!
Any feedback from you ladies?

i am booked at WCC ... i absolutely love the people there and haven't had anything but good things to say about them.
The guy who is in charge of decor (you'll be speaking to him if you want to rent the lounge furniture for the CH) is kind of iffy but luckily, i am not going to be dealing with him so i'm ok with it.
WCC also gives A LOT of things included in the price which i really really liked. and they are good about negotiating

. I really liked WCC and almost booked it. My one piece of advice would be to just make sure you understand exactly which rooms and which parts of the grounds you have access to. I looked at it because I liked the grounds, but then the room I was going to book didn't have access to the areas of the grounds that I liked. The good part of it is that they go our of their way to separate the parties, but the bad part is that it limits where you can go, so I would make sure you understand that 100% before booking. GL!

Im not sooo sure that this is true but i heard from a couple of sources that they may be closing due to financial touble.... I dont mean to worry anybody just want to let you know....

There are rumors but from what I heard they are not true. They changing their name in the future (that's what I heard ) and remodeling (again, heard) but are still booking.
I am getting married there and the amount of food they give you is just outstanding! They even gave us a tasting unexpectedly. Everything was delish!! You will be sooo happy with the menu.
Also the previous post about the grounds is 100% true. I am using the upstairs room and we are not allowed to take pictures by the huge pool/pond thing. We get the side with the bridge. That's beautiful as well, but I would have liked to take pics everywhere.
Don't be afraid to ask them questions because I am so happy we are getting married there. It's beautiful!!

I've never been to Westbury Manor or Douglaston Manor, so I can't comment on either of those RHs.
I really liked WCC... and in the summer, the outdoor area is really incredible. A friend of mine got married there last year and had a great experience. If I remember correctly - there are two room/ceremony options-- I liked the one where you have the outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour by the pool, and the reception room was on the bottom floor.
I was given a very reasonable price quote from WCC. The only reason I did not end up booking there was because I wanted to get married at a place where there was one wedding at a time. That was just a personal preference.
~I think the rumors about WCC closing are just rumors! I wouldn't let that deter you. If you're still apprehensive, then have them make a representation that they are not closing in your contract.

They responded officially on LIW stating that they had no plans to close so I wouldnt worry. I love the outside area as well and thats why I booked them, on top of good customer service. Jeff is great! Go to their showcase on Feb 18th!! there will be food and everything there.

I love woodbury! A few of my friends got married there and had nothing but great things to say! The outdoor area is amazing and a steel drum band sounds great out there!!

I visited all 3 places, my top choice would be west bury Manor , who i was close to booking but i couldn't make the Saturday min and the Sunday holidays they charged extra for which a lot of people didn't.
Its a toss up for me between the WCC and the Douglaston Manor. I definitely like the guy we were working with at douglaston better but the room was an odd shape for me, but it was sooo beautiful. i love the balcony in the room. WCC i probably would have booked but i didnt really like the guy . he was trying to help us and another couple at the same time and he would come in for like 2 mins and then leave for 10 mins. they did give us appetizers to try and most of them were very good. i was also a little un happy that we couldn't take pool pictures . the other side is pretty with the bridge though.

I didn't see Douglaston....but I saw the other two. I like WCC best. I loved the outside area too!

Yep, mostly because we wanted August 2010 and they didn't have any saturdays available. But it's kind of better this way because a lot of FH's family wouldn't come on a saturday because they're orthodox

When I went there we met with Jeff too.. He was just great.. We didn't end up booking there because not everyone agreed on the WCC but it was #2 on our list and a huge reason was because of how great Jeff was!
WCC is def a great choice... I'm still gonna be a lil jealous of every bride who gets to have their cocktail hour out there by the pool!
