ahhh girls please help.

ok so as i mentioned my best friend since like birth was supposed to get married next week. The wedding was called off and she is completely devastated. I rented a car so I can go to PA where she lives to keep her company this weekend. Well now theirs this whole hurricane thing. my WHOLE family has called me this morning to try to get me not to go. On one hand yes I'm slightly nervous. but on the other hand how do i leave my friend hanging like this? Shes so looking forward to my visit. What would you guys do? I was supposed to leave today and then come home monday morning

if you can avoid traveling from Sat night through Sunday, you should be fine. If you have pets, I would arrange someone to take them in just in case you CANT get back Monday.

Just be prepared that we could have floods that close roads like the Belt Pkwy and Cross Island Pkwy, bc they are low lying and prone to flooding.

I canceled a trip to Boston this weekend bc I need to get back on Sunday, so that was really that drove me to cancel.

yeah I'm just so confused. Leaving today is no issue. and I'm fine with coming home monday. i think a few people are going to have issues getting to work monday so i wont be the only one. I feel bad about leaving FH home alone in this but he bought chicken wings and a bunch of dude movies and is perfectly content staying home and relaxing lol. why must my family be so crazy and get me all nervous

If you can leave asap and not come home until Monday you will most likely not have a problem.

this, but try to make it so you're flexible with travel times on monday in case bad weather is still hovering your travel route

i know im a bit of a dumb a$$ when it comes to this stuff but i would still go.

in my mind, its not supposed to get bad until tomorrow night. and yea its gonna be bad on sun and if monday is still bad just use it as an excuse to stay an extra day (if possible)

also my parents are in PA right now, Pocono Pines (15mins from the Crossings) and they said its not that bad at all. yesterday it rained all day but today isnt bad, just chilly. you are prob better off there then here.

Thats exactly where I'm going! I came to the decision that I am ok with getting stuck there the extra day and she even offered to pay for the car if i get stuck and extra day.

Now i just need to get over being worried for FH. what if its super bad here and something happens to him! He said even if it is really bad what am i going to do carry him on my back lol. but i wouldn't want to leave him alone in a disaster! omg you see my family makes me so crazy. I need to not be like this when i have kids

dont worry so much! you will drive yourself nuts (i do the same thing tho) its funny my FH says the same thing 'what are YOU gonna do if I'm in trouble' lol

your not leaving him by himself, if god forbid something does happen your family, his family and all your friends are here.
i'm actually not all that worried tho, my area of brooklyn (dyker) isnt in any real danger zone, hell i wish i was going away. we may have house guests on our couch this weekend lol

If you leave today and you are able to come back whenever is necessary I think you are fine. If you would have to leave on Sunday night I would not do it!
