My wedding is July 2012 !! When should I be getting hair and makeup trials? Do you usually get them done the same day? Also when is everyone sending there Save The Dates out? Anddddd, officiant? I havent looked yet - I want someone who is serious yet has a sense of humor and can maybe make us laugh a little :) Any suggestions?!

hair & makeup: it's up to you when you want to lock this up, I knew who was going to do my hair so I booked her and I'll start getting trials sometime in the spring I think (I'm a September wedding) I want to know exactly how my hair will look that day. Makeup trials I have already been getting, remember people book up far in advance so I'm looking to get this locked in ASAP personally.
Save the Dates-you can send these out whenever you want now that you're past the 1 year mark, we sent our out at the one year mark. Some people do them a year out, 9 months out, 6 months out, there's really no right or wrong to this.
Officiant-I'm still searching for someone that doesn't charge $400 or more for a 10 minute ceremony so can't help much on that one :)

Hair & Makeup - whenever you want to book them. If it helps, I have my hair & makeup booked for my September 2012 wedding already. I knew who I wanted to use so I didn't waste any time booking them once I had my trials.
STD's - since your wedding is in July, I'd try to get them out before the 6 month mark.

I sent out the STD's about 10 months before the wedding -- I wanted to do 1 Year, but we had an engagement party and I didn't want to keep bombarding people with my mail
I started hair and makeup trials in June and I'm stil finalizing the decision!! I did not have a lot of luck and didn't like the ones that I went to so it could take some time.

I would try to lock down hair and makeup asap. I know you have a lot of time but many of them only do one wedding a day, so if you have someone in mind I would try to book or at least start on trials.

Some of the popular hair and makeup are booked quickly so it really depends on who you want. Right now you are in a good time range to send out save the dates. For Officiants I recommend Pastor April, she is great!

i'd start to get hair & makeup trials now so that you can lock someone down since many book 6 months to a year out. i locked down my MUA but not hair yet and didn't get them done on the same day.
i'd also look at officiants soon too since they tend to like to meet you & FH to get an idea of personalities. I'm booked with Rev. David Grainson, super sweet.
In terms of save the dates, I just took my epics and am hoping to get them out at the 6 month at the end of November.
