If people can affford to put gas in the SUV, then what is the problem with owning one? I own one, I put gas in it, I feel SAFE in it. I dont drive often so I dont see a problem with owning one. We went from 2 SUV's to 1 SUV and 1 Car to be economical for raod trips. But I dont see why people have it out for those that own SUV's.
I don't have it out for people who own SUV's...I just think if you own one then you can't complain about gas...my dad owns one and i tell him this all the time.....I think in this country people think bigger is always better and in the end it's going to hurt the environment and economy.
I was not complaining about the price of gas, as it doesnt really affect me because I take the train into the city everyday and only drive 5 minutes a day. I just think that people need to get off their soap box and stop blaming the SUV owners, etc. How abotu w blame our stupid @ss president for the trouble we are in.....

I have an SUV and I complain about gas prices. The prices went up for everyone, regardless of what kind of car you drive. Everyone is still paying a he!! of a lot more than they used to...
I'm honestly thinking about taking my bike to work for the summer.

I have an SUV and I complain about gas prices. The prices went up for everyone, regardless of what kind of car you drive. Everyone is still paying a he!! of a lot more than they used to...
I agree. I think people just like to give SUV owners a bad rep!

I filled up from fumes the other day in my suv and it came to $88. I looked at the guy and was like omg are you kidding me?!?! The hs i teach at is a whopping .9 miles from my house so im debating on riding my bike if i wasnt fearful that my students might run me over![]()

When I bought my SUV 4 years ago gas prices weren't the same. I would try to get a car if I could afford it but I owe too much. I will stop driving it if you can get me into a 4 cycl that I can afford w/o losing my money on the truck. I bought a second car when prices went up a few years ago, but it has just died. Do you think minivans should be banned? Had my cousin not been in her SUV when a volvo hit here 2 weeks ago and caused her to flip and skid a 1000 feet on the roof, she would have not walked away. Cars bend in accidents, SUV can save lives. I bought my SUV when I lived 40 miles each way to work and work in a hospital that doesn't close due to snowstorms. There are no snow days! I needed 4 wheel drive where I lived and worked. How could you blame SUV drivers for the high prices? That is pure stupidity. Even someone who owns a 4 cyc can use more gas than an SUV owner. You may use less gas per tank, but what if you drive more and fill up more often? There are some good reasons people own SUVs, you should not classify them together. I own a smaller SUV. Everyone is suffering with higher gas prices.
It s u c k s, but what can we do? We need to get around and now transportation prices will go up too, as did the price of airfare AND cruises (you now pay a fuel charge)....we'll all continue to pay like we always have and as groceries go up, clothes go up and restaurants hike up their prices, we will still go. I think that we feel it a lot because this is such a rapid increase that WE can actually feel. I wish I could make my own gas and oil lol Who wants to try with me?
