Hi all - Well my little man went for his 18 month check up today -- and he is perfectly healthy! Even a little tall for his age ! The Dr. told me that he is ready to start potty training? I feel its a little young-- but Aidan does show an intrest in the potty ? When did everyone else start???

Re: Aidans 18 month Check-up -- Potty training???
If he shows interest go for it. I have trained so many kids at my job and the older they get the harder it is. A lot of times boys train themselves. Good luck

WOW 18m does seem really young to me. Does he tell you when he needs to go? Hey, the sooner the better! I was counting on 3yrs from what Ive heard about boys potty training.

my son showed interest @ 20 months & by age 2 he was 100% trained-even went to a day care program that didn't take tots with diapers. some kids just find it easy-you can start slow & see if he picks up on it.

Re: Aidans 18 month Check-up -- Potty training???
We bought Emma also 18 months a potty seat for x-mas. She knows what the potty is and says pee pee when she has to go or does. We sit her on the potty but she cries (I think cause its cold). I dont want to scare her off so I just leave the seat in the potty and the step infront in case she decideds she needs to go.

Re: Aidans 18 month Check-up -- Potty training???
I want him to start pre school at 3 -- and most schools require them to be fully potty trained by then -- so I guess I 'll start slowly... My Dr. said the earlier the better - but not to push him if he does not seem ready.. Thanks guys-- Any recomendations on a good potty ? Is the seat on the real potty better than a child size potty?
