Air Conditioner in the Wall

Me and DH want to put an air conditioner in the wall in our bedroom.

If anyone had this done can you tell me how much it cost and who you used?

THanks...

We have 2 of them, a big one (12 btu's) in the kitchen and 5 btu's in the bedroom. We got the air conditioners installed by P.C. Richards. We got their deal they do in May. Check out the papers if they do it again this year.

What type of deal was it? If you don't mind me asking? And if you can FM me with any type of price range. Me and DH are on a budget and i don't want to bother bringing people in if it is too much.

We have a big one in the wall already in our dining room that we have to get a new one there.

I also want to knock a hole in our bedroom wall and put a smaller one there....

TIA for any help you (or anyone) can provide.

We have 2 in the walls also done by PC Richards last year. It wasn't much money but remember to get something to lay over your furniture. Ours went through a brick wall and there was dust everywhere!

So are you people saying that PC Richards actually DEMO'ed a hole through a brick wall that wasn't already there... built the sleeve themselves... and then installed the AC?

Because it seems to me like the original poster's question asked how much it would cost to have the sleeve hole itself installed (where there is no existing hole).

I don't see that being cheap... and not a job that PC Richards would do.

This type of 'wall' sleeve is usually a standard size and its commonly known as a 'fedders sleeve'.

If thats not the case... most in the sleeve AC units run anywhere between $400 and 900 buks... depending on the BTUs. These wall ACs are not cheap because they only vent through the rear (not on the sides like window ACs do).

THis is what i am confused about too. I thought you had to get an AC company to demo the wall for you and they would purchase the AC's for you.

Like i said, i have an old one through the wall that needs to be replaced...but we want to put one through the wall in our bedroom that would be a new one.

If PC Richards does this then this would be great.....
