Re: airbrush vs. regular makeup

i love airbrush....i hate regular foundation

i used to use it but not anymore my face breaks out so badly from regular foundation. so when i spoke with Jacqueline Nicole she even said airbrush would be better. It definitely looks smoother and it makes your face look flawless haha I was like OMG after she just put the airbrush on because of the smoothness of my skin- it looked very healthy.

Um...so yeah haha i guess i prefer airbrush but thats because i dont wear alot of makeup at all and didnt want to be too cakey on the day of...also i heard it doesnt leave you as shiny after awhile like other foundations do....

I've never had airbrush done before, but I know that when I had my make-up trial done with Oksana that she said that she doesn't do air-brush at all because it's basically just a quick way to put on foundation for different shoots or films, and she doesn't think it's appropriate for someone for their wedding day! HTH!

lol that's something I need to consider too! I'm not sure... we'd probably have to ask someone who's more familiar with both types of make-up! I know i'm going to be very emotional on my wedding day too... I just thought about the eye make-up!

yeah Jacqueline Nicole does both and since I said i didnt want a really cakey and a smoother feeling she suggested airbrush and she said sometimes its better because it lasts longer- 24 hours and she said since its waterproof you wont get lines after crying under your eyes or anything on your face..and when people come up to you and hug you and kiss you it wont rub off....

Re: airbrush vs. regular makeup

ok, ive had both and i did NOT like how the airbrush felt
my face felt heavy and c akey

they way oksana explained it; which makes a lot of sense is that with regular; she can put different colors in different places to contour parts of your face and that CANNOT be done when you airbrush since its one color sprayed onto you

HTH

everyone else said that regular felt cakey but i felt the total opposite
my face felt hard and cakey and also much paler with the airbrush
i didnt like it at all

ooo i didnt know that good point Laura....

yeah it's funny how everyones face works different with makeup...cause the minute i touch my face with regular foundation i break out it stinks so i never ever wear it but the airbrush on me felt alot better

I guess this isnt helping lol but maybe get a trial with airbrush so you can tell first hand...

I agree. I do makeup for weddings on my spare time and I use mac as a product

If you use a High quality foundation it will look smooth. I generally put 3 colours on girls. A light, medium and dark and it looks great. The dark is used under the cheekbones and you blend it in then just use a small about of blush to hylight. Oh it looks So wonderful

haha, sorry I love doing makeup.

However, if your still not sure I would just get a trial with both done. Do them on a special day for a party and that way you know for sure.

I agree..I haven't seen one airbrushed face that doens't look paler than before...strange.

Thanks for posting this cus Im not sure what do do either! I hate the feeling of wearing a lot of makeup! I have heard that airbrush feels weightless- but i wasn't sure if this is true. I think the best way to know is to maybe get both done during the trial.

Also, just a FYI: I’ve heard that airbrushing can’t really be done well with all faces…thought I can’t remember if it’s because of skin type or not

i like airbrush bc it was a fresher look that lasted all night.

i just felt like i had nothing on...it was great.

I had a make-up trial with airbrush.. i like how light it felt and how long it lasted. i was really going for a very natural look...light on the colors. I think its all a personal preference!

hmmm... when i did modeling when i was (much) younger, they didnt use only one color for the airbrush base which was why i liked it so much more.
you can definitely do contouring with airbrushing it just depends on whether or not the specific artist does it.

a lot of girls in magaizes have their makeup airbrushed on because they can make their arms and legs look smaller or firmer or whatever because of it.
(of course they also photoshop a lot of photos...)

I just don't think the statement about not being able to contour with airbrushing is correct.
