Airbrush vs Traditional

Hi Ladies
I was just wondering for those who have already had their make-up trials if you preferred Airbrushing or traditional make-up. TIA!!

Yeah, I'm trying to decide to. I've never done airbrush.

I had air brushing done and loved it. It was so light. I didn't even feel like I had make up on!!

I HATED airbrush - so did my BM!
It was so flat looking.Keep in mind you cannot touch up airbrushing later. Once you tear or sweat is all over.
Traditional makeup has a lot of room for play - the face can also appear real dewy and glisten if the makeup artist is good.

I happened to also not be a candidate for airbrushing because of my skin. If you have any blotches or dark marks from the sun they will go DARKER!

i'm going for my trial on monday (airbrush), so i'll let you know. i figured i can do my own traditional makeup so if i'm gonig to pay someone i might as well have them do something i can't.

plus, makeup doesn't like me much (nor i it) and whenever i put a thick foundation on my eyes get red and watery, i get blotchy, and the skin under my eyes starts to peel. ont a good wedding day pic.

I had both airbrush and traditional trials, and much preferred the airbrush.

I 200% absolutely LOVED airbrush & i used mia too. she was fantastic. Also, airbrush does not BUDGE. My makeup looked flawless at the end of the night & my husband & i danced like maniacs! The only way it comes off is if u scrub it or use soap. tears, sweat...it doesn't do a thing. I know one girl posted above that u cant touch it up, but that's because u don't need too! If u have a good artist who knows what they're doing - it'll stay. The only thing i would recommend it Mineral Veil by Bare Escentuals to keep with you through the night. It helps control oil & shine...you can dust it on as many times as you want & it wont clog ur pores OR effect your makeup. It's great. Because regardless of what makeup u use, u will sweat if ur dancin' like crazy! anyways, i'm a makeup artist, and i preferred airbrush - it has a flawless finish, doesnt budge, and it comes out great in photos...BUT to each it own - so try both & see which u like better. Mia may even let u try traditional makeup first, and then take it off & airbrush u...so just ask Other than that, if u wanna go traditional, i'd go for Bare Escentuals...no NOT 'cause i work for them lol. I loved the product first and THEN got a job with them. The stuff is amazing & it's not heavy or harsh or un-natural looking on ur face. best of luck to u! here's a pic from my wedding - mia's work

thank you! I loved you pics- I actually saw them when we went to see Thomas Paul. Beautiful. I use Bare Escentuals every day. I love it too!! I think I will try both, I am not worried about oil- I have more dry skin than oily- I am worried about sweat and tears!! I just don't want streaks running down my face!

Your make up looked beautiful- which one was it?

I had foundation done , but not heavy.

I agree with you girls.. If you have a good makeup artist they can make many different shades and create a very natural look with airbrush.
There are different bases. Water and oil I believe.
The water WILL MOVE and you cannot retouch it, the other can be played with. (or maybe it is the other way around ) lol

anyway....

I just very much hated the whole thing due to my skin and how it reacts like a sponge - it absorbed the airbrush spray and enhanced previous marks and uneven skin tones from the sun.

Also I didn't feel the airbrush was much different than foundation it was DEFINITLY not lighter on the skin - it was the same if not a bit heavier in my opinion.

But anyway every person is different - I just was hoping to have flawless looking skin when trying the airbrush and it didn't work for me I tried several makeup artists that did both and spent a fortune! The foundation worked better each time for my skin.

The makeup artist should have buffed your skin with powder to fill in the skin.. then used corrector for the dark marks THEN applied the airbrush makeup, the soft focus formula.. isn't matte and flat looking.. and followed with light contouring, to enhance features and a light dusting of highlight powder to the high plains of the cheekbone, down the nose and a little in the middle of the forehead. The reason it probably felt heavy is because they used a heavy hand when applying, which will also lend to that mask-y, flat look. With proper skin prep before airbrushing, she should have just gone over your face with a couple of passes with the airbrush.

The traditional makeup looks flawless though and that's the goal.

I had several trials w/different makeup artists.
the first couple did not do the above steps you mentioned. Than one out of the three did. It still was not impressive or 'flawless' it appeared to have shadows and undertones. Trust me I WANTED IT DONE BADLY! Once I had the traditional foundation done and was able to compare I felt much better. I am VERY picky - and I think just like anything -certain things can work on best on others. For me - it was a no BRAINER.

i had airbrush done for my beach wedding..
i did not touch up a thing that day... maybe gloss when i had a chance.. it lasted the whole night..

she covered up the dark spots i got from the sun on my face and a mark on my arm from a bite i got just prior to the wedding with the airbrush... it was light and i didnt feel like i had foundation on at all..

i too used m ia from b ridal lounge..
