airbrushing vs. traditional make-up?

Okay ladies,

I think I have a lot of time to look for a make-up artist (well let's hope so)... BUT I want to start doing my research. I noticed that a lot of brides prefer the airbrushing to the traditional make-up. What is the difference between the two? Do they look drastically different? Does one last longer than the other?

Your thoughts are must appreciated as well any vendor recommendations!

Thanks!

Re: airbrushing vs. traditional make-up?

I had both done for my trial..half my face was done in the traditional make-up, and half with the airbrushing. It did not look too different (although the blush seemed to blend better on the airbrushed part), but the true test was how long they both lasted. The airbrush makeup felt very light, almost like it wasn't there, and it lasted overnight and until the next day at lunch. The traditional make-up side wore off after about 8 hours, but I noticed that the powerd I used for my eyes started to fade a bit sooner. Also, the color was a bit more pronouced in the 'crease'.

I went with the airbrushing for my day & it lasted me from 7am the day of me wedding until noon the next day!!! definately worth it for me, but it is not for everyone.. I suggest doing the 'half-face trial' if your artist will accommodate it.

BTW: I used Jennifer from Fairytale Makeovers.
