Airfair

Okie, FH and I are sitting down right now comparing prices to go roundtrip to Italy. We noticed that t r a v e l o c i t y has the best prices. We wanted to get prices for 3 weeks from the last week of May 'til 2nd week of June and we got a final price of 1k per person, and just for the heck of it we did an early date ('cause I've heard that if u book ur flights ahead of time, u're suppose to save a lot of money and I wanted to see how much we would save) also for 3 weeks and we got a price of $800! how can a flight that's suppose to happen 3 months from now be LESS money than one that is booked almost 1 yr in advance???

supply and demand I would imagine..
There isnt alot of time to sell them, they would rather get $800 than nothing..

My moms family always books trips, cruises, anything like a week in advance for that reason! It actually gets cheaper as it gets closer.. and thats the only explanation i can think of!

ITA....I think the farther away you buy tix the more $$$ it is. The closer you are to your trip the cheaper it is b/c they want to selll those last seats so they try to give you a good deal!
