airfare question

okay so i've been watching flights to michigan for a few weeks now.

they're hovering around $200 after taxes and whatever.

i've definitely booked lower than this before and i know my parents got their flights for october already and got less than this.

i'm looking to book a flight at the end of august.

when's my best bet for booking for slightly cheaper?

Have you tried kayak.com? It searches like...every travel site out there.

Or, if your flexible with your dates, that can help you find some lower prices.

And search at different airports. For me, I look at LaGuardia, JFK and Newark. Since you're out on the Island, search for MacArthur, JFK and LaGuardia.

Check prices very early like around 6am....the prices are cheaper in the morning for some reason. When we booked our HM flights, I did it at 7am and it was $200 higher at noon that same day.

$200 is not too bad. I fly to and from detroit all the time and the best i've seen is $150 but i haven't seen that in years.

Re: airfare question

how bout booking with orbitz.com? they have a price match guarantee and they actually refund you the difference if another customer books for the same flight and gets a lower rate.

i've recently booked a flight and got a refund for $20!
