aisle runner question

aisle runner question

I am going to do a handpainted aisle runner. Forgive my ignorance, but does the aisle runner only get laid out AFTER the bridal party processes in so that I am the only one who walks on it? That's what my mom said , and I'm questioning it.... we're getting married at the hall.... Also, would I make it so that you can read it as you are processing down the aisle or recessing out?

The pictures people have posted of custom ones show it so that it's as people are processing in, but if it isn't down as ppl are walking in, how does it get read???

Thanks!

Re: aisle runner question

I've been to a few LIW bride's weddings this year. Those that got married in the church the aisle runner was laid out right before the bride came down, for those that got married at the hall, the aisle runner was down for the entire BP.

I suppose that means you can do it either way - you just have to tell the hall.

and it's laid out so that you can read it as you're walking down the aisle, right?

Re: aisle runner question

my mom told me that it should just be for me, but I want it laid out the whole time because I'm having rose petals on each side of the aisle runner, and they have to be put down before the bridal party goes down. I'm going to have tulle tying off the aisle so the guests don't walk on it (They'll have to enter the pews from the sides).

This is where I got the idea of my aisle runner from... (kimberlybride):

Re: aisle runner question

I went to a wedding last week where the aisle runner was laid out right before the bridal party walked down the aisle (and after the parents/grandparents had).

However it wasn't a custom aisle runner.
