aisle runner ... to buy or not to buy?

aisle runner ... to buy or not to buy?

Our ceremony is at the RH which apparently, does not provide an aisle runner. Since we're not getting a limo, we can't get it through them. Florist wanted to charge me $100 (hells no!).

I found aisle runners for about $20 .... but is it worth it? I know 20 isn't that much, but seriously, what am i going to do with this aisle runner after the wedding? Plus, it's only a half hour ceremony.

so what do you ladies think ... should i buy it for $20 or just live without it?

(ps: has anyone ever been to a wedding without an aisle runner? was it missed?)

TIA

you so wont miss it!

I know we get all wrapped up in this stuff but i think after we'll all think damn why did I buy that?

skip it, no one will notice it.

Honestly, its a piece of fabric you are going to walk on for all of 10 secs. I think it is a waste of money. Unless it is something you really want.

Can you put flowers down the edges of the aisle. I think that's so elegant and pretty.

i actually love that idea ... but my florist wanted to charge me a ridiculous amount for the flower petals ... plus, ceremony is outside (hopefully) so i don't know how that would work if it's windy ...

Buy flowers at Costco the night before and rip them up for petals, thats what we are doing. We are actually gonna use them to decorate the dinner the night before, so they have 2 uses.

I think skip it.

Decorate the isle with something ...like candles....or low flowers in something...

Since we're at the same RH, I have the same problem. I really like the flower idea though.
