dumb question, but where does it start. does it start at the altar and then get rolled down or does it start by the door and get rolled out towards the altar, or does it even matter??? I want to start my DIY monogram but I don't want to put it on the wrong end or upside down!

usually the runner should start from the altar and make it way towards you when you are ready to walk
