album: help inspire me!

How long did it take for you girls to work on your albums (if you've done them yet)? DH and I really have to get a move-on with this because once we close on our new house (!), there's no way we're going to find time to do it!!!

Give me ideas/samples!

It only took us a couple of days. We were allowed 80 pics so we went through all the pics and pulled the ones out that we liked. Then we put them in categories (beach, ceremony, family, reception) and picked the ones we liked from each category. Then we went through them again and pulled any pics that were similar and kept the best ones in a pile. After doing all that we picked 80 of our fav pics. It wasnt as bad as it sounds. Im still waiting for my album. My photog said it would take 6 months. 3 more to go!

Hi Megan! I feel like we haven't seen you forever!!!!!!

Our photographer made our album for us and we just had veto power as to what photos were used if we had different ones we wanted. It came out nice, but I actually had way more fun designing my own DIY parent albums (they're in my albums on here if you want to take a look).

For those, I chose 125-175 pictures that I liked for each set of parents and uploaded them, then put them together sorta magazine style. Once I picked out the photos I wanted to use, the rest sort of just fell into place! I used about 100 photos in each, maybe a few more. It was so much fun!

We've both been really busy. . .DH finished his masters, we're buying a house (two mortgage companies later!), and so life has been insane!

I bookmarked some of the samples on the photog's page for inspiration. They told us to pick out some of the 'background' type pics, like of our champagne flutes or place cards. It's just so hard to whittle down the boxes of pics to 120!!!

Congratulations to you both!!!! That's really exciting about the home (and the degree!)!!

We had almost 1400 photos but we had them digitally, so it was a little easier for me to just throw the ones I liked into separate folders on my desktop to pick what to use to make the albums.

I'm not sure how my photographer did it, but we had the album in hand within 6 weeks of the wedding. Incredible! I'm glad we were able to get our photos on DVDs though so I could make the other albums myself.

I agree with what Gail did -- use categories and then whittle it down.

Remember that you don't need to have every single picture in your album to have a beautiful album or beautiful memories from your wedding day!

it took forever!!!

once i narrowed them down, i went to my photog and we laid them all out and narrowed them down again...i was there 5 hours!!!

can't wait for the album though!! it is going to be beautiful!!

I have to wait 9 months though!!

Please dont feel bad! We are now picking the pictures of our album! Shame on us!

I think you should group it by category...

Ceremony
Cocktail ( If you had one)
Reception
Etc...
