How is FFIL? Did they do the surgery? (I may have missed a post or two...)

I hope everything is ok.

Re: Ali (coldasice)

Thanks for asking

They did an angiogram (I think?) and couldn't find an aneurysm, or remnants thereof. So they think it may not have been one at all, and rather venal bleeding. OR it was an aneurysm, but there was still loose blood blocking the view. So they did an MRI today, and he has to stay in for a full week, and then they are going to do a second angiogram. If they still don't find anything, then they're going to concur it was venal bleeding, and release him. The good thing is if it is venal bleeding, very low chance of it ever occurring again. But bad thing is there's no explanation as to why it happened. And if it was an aneurysm, and they just can't determine yet that...well, that's not good at all. So it's the wait and see approach right now.

FH is really not dealing well with this. He reads and researches and self diagnoses things anyways, so he was torturing himself last night reading of all the possible things that could have happened, symptoms, side effects, everything. It's scary, because he had a weird neurological episode over the summer when he was playing hockey, went numb, blacked out. Dr. did heart tests only, concluded dehydration, but now we're both really afraid that he has a genetic predisposition to a blockage or aneurysm because it happened to his dad

My FH is the same way with the self diagnosis. I call him Dr. Web (as in Web MD). I hope everything turns out ok.
