devastated!!!! I LOVE HIM!!!! he is one of those actors that just makes my heart flip! i swear, i fell in love with him in the movie never been kissed with drew barrymore!

I know, but it's not fair, Sid & Vaughn are a good couple, I mean she lost her first fiance in the first episode, now this? damn this girl is jinxed!! lol

Yeah I heard they were gonna kill him off. I don't watch the show, but I have to say I LOVE him. I heard Jen might leave too though - so who knows.

This bites big time. Here's a summary from what I can remember. So we come back from the dramatic conclusion of last season. Vaughn tells Sydney that he is not in fact, the man she thinks he is. So she playingly says 'I hope your not a bad guy or anything' and He says 'Well, that's the thing' Crash, bang, boom!! Falling in and out of conciousness, Sydney calls for Vaughn. She again awakens to see paramedics on the scene and them hauling Vaughn off on a helicopter. The paramedic that's helping her talks into his radio and say 'The girl is ok, we have her' and he's getting a big yucky needle ready to inject her. She does some kung fu fighting and runs into the corn field. She beats up the bad guys, but is too late as they whisk Vaughn away. Sydney's at the hospital getting the once over. She's ok. Some gov't guy comes in to question her and tells her Vaughn is a baddie and that she too can be considered an accomplice. This freaks her out and it doesnt help that her father is telling her he did jail time because of her mother for the same exact reasons. Back to Vaughn. The baddies are questioning him and give him paper with a whole bunch of numbers on it. He has no clue what it means. He goes into kung foo mode and escapes. He calls Sydney and they find a place to meet. By this time, she's worried because she doesnt know what to believe. They meet up and Vaughn explains to her that his father was involved in a special project year back, but something went wrong and they had to change their identities. He was only a child when this happened. But that's when his name was changed to Michael Vaughn. His father always kept contact with one person from this project and that now Vaughn had to find this man. Project man gets in touch with him and they meet. Project man goes on to explain that they found this book way back when and even the best encoders could not break it. They got the best of the best to decode it and eventually they did. After it was decoded suddenly everyone envolved with the project died of different reasons. The only two remaining were project guy and Vaughn's dad. They both changed idenities and moved on. Now it was up to Vaughn to find the book and give it to project guy. Vaughn and Sydney go off on their assignment and retrieve the book. Their cover is blown and now they are running for safety. Sydney gets a call from the doctor. She's politely telling him that now is not the time, but he says it anyway. She meets up with Vaughn and just as their about to jump off a cliff, she tells him she's pregnant.

Whew!!!
Vaughn and Sydney go to meet project guy in a train yard. Sydney stays behind in the car. Suddenly trains start passing by, but Sydney sees that project guy and Vaughn are ambushed. Baddies shoot and kill project guy. They retrieve the book. Vaughn is surrounded and the look of despair is quite evident in his eyes. Just a few short moments before he joshed with Sydney about what a great mother she'd be and what a terrible dad he'd be. They spray Vaughn with what seems like 50 bullets. Baddies get away, but not before Sydney see's her babydaddy's killer. The trains finally pass and Sydney rushes to Vaughn. Cut to Vaughn in the hospital. He's concious, but in really bad shape. They discuss baby names and they agree to both a girl and boy name. Just as Vaughn breathes a sigh of relief that Sydney is ok, he goes into cardiac arrest. They try reviving him, but to no avail. Sydney confides in her father that she's pregnant and he vows to help them as much as he can.
I know Im missing a couple of key elements here because I was flipping through Alias, smallville, and Will & Grace. Someone fill me in on who the lady is that Vaughn was supposedly working with, and what happened at the end when Sydney was in London. Thanks!!

I don't really think he's dead. Closed casket - underreaction from Syndey - lots of meaningful looks between her and spydaddy!!
I think they had to 'kill' him to keep him safe from the Prophet 5 people.
My prediction would be that he winds up being alive and well when the baby comes.
They've doen that kind of thing before - JJ Abrams can be very tricky!!
Or maybe it's just my need to believe that my beloved Vaughn is still around!!

Oh for the love of God, I hope that's the case. But the whole hospital scene with the doc saying extensive organ damage and the whole cardiac arrest makes me believe otherwise

My sister said something similiar like they gave him a shot to make him seem dead and will bring him back later on... I hate when TV plays with my emotions!!

I'm so mad at the show right now!
I don't think Vaughn will be back for a looong while, if at all. Vartan hasn't been back to work on Alias since they filmed the death scene. And, he's doing a bunch of other guest spots.
Let's check on the opening credits for his name, though.
Truth be told: I LOVE(D) Alias, but I don't think it will be back after this season.
