Happy New Year. Its 2005 and we are one year from our wedding. I am getting so nervous and excited.

Done lots of thinking, but not much action. Booked church and hall.......spent lots of time thinking about photographers, florists, dresses, dj's, etc. Need to get my butt moving and make some calls!!

booked hall, dj, photo, video, spoke with church and have to meet with priest on fri, and bought part of my girls gifts. Haven't even thought about an engagement party. Thats next.

I've booked the hall, church, pre-cana done, photo, favors, part of GM and BM gifts...I know who I want for limo...going to go dress shopping within the next month or so....I have to finalize my bridal party and the dj is going to be done within the next month....oh and the invitations will be ordered by july....i have a timeline all in my head....hopefully it will work

I've booked hall, DJ, Photographer, videographer, limos, make up, ceremony music and officiant. I only need to book the florist.
We have the Save the Dates, favors, cake topper, cake servers, unity candles, and tiara. I just wish I could fast forward time.

Happy New Year! I love how now I can say, I am getting married NEXT year!
So far, nothing yet outside of what was done prior. Just holding off and trying to recover from the holidays and probably by next month more planning.

We have the church, hall, photo/video, hair & makeup booked...My dress along with the BM's dresses are ordered. They should be in right around the 1 year mark....We know who we are using for flowers, just have to get that booked
Not doing an engagement party, so that is one less thing to worry about! Still have precana, invitations & all the tiny stuff

only put the deposit on my hall and of course started my new years diet so I can go look for a dress I think flowers are next.

Oh my God-- you are all so far ahead of me-- I only booked my hall and bought my dress! I can't book the church until exactly a year ahead-- and pray that someone doesn't get there ahead of me! Next step-- photographer--- Anyone know anything about any of these--- Duval Dan Wagner Rappa Photography They keep emailing me so I think I may check them out.

I'm working on photo/video and the cards to ask my bridal party to be part of our day. I bought awesome cards (see picture below mine are a wine color though not pink) and I found a poem to put in them.

Maybe I'm going to get my head bitten off for this, but I would caution people not to rush some things! I mean, some parts of the wedding get booked fast (that's why I've got my hall, band, and photographer) or need to be ordered early (basically, the dress), but why get anything else over a year in advance? New trends come out in invitations, favors, etc. over the course of a year, and the older things go on sale/become cheaper. Also, it leaves a lot of room for you to change your mind/tastes if you leave things for, say, 6 months in advance or so.
Just remember: there's no need to freak out if you haven't gotten all of the little details done with a whole year to go. That's how people wind up getting into debt and spending money on frivolous things they really don't need...you go into wedding-purchase withdrawal I bet if you finish it all too early. I know that's how I wind up spending waaaay too much on Christmas gifts...just an extra little thing here...another little thing there...
Anyway, this was really just aimed at people (like me) who have a constantly evolving idea of their wedding...if you've got your one-and-only vision, and you're getting bargains, you go with your early self, girl! There definitely isn't one (or even two or three) right way to plan a wedding.
