We are using the Best Western McArthur in Holtzville. Its exit 62LIE I think. We are also having our rehersal dinner there. We were going to use the Ramada which is closer but the Best Western is a bit nicer I think.

We are using the Ramada in about 10 minutes away. Its right next to Tanger. Its really not seedy either. We went there to check it out for that reason and the rooms were standard but very clean and the restaurant I heard is pretty good. We have a couple of high business execs coming and didnt want a rundown seedy hotel. The rate for a saturday night for a block of 15 rooms is $149 but they said regular rate was over $200. We were also considering the Marriott or Windwatch in Hauppauge but you have to guarantee a minimum and pay if they dont take them...Try the Ramada :) Or according to Kevin at the EW, there is a B&B near there too, but we were told the inn would be ready in 2002. This was last September so it might have changed too. Good luck!!

We went to the showcase at EW on Thurs. nite & were told the Inn would not be ready till Jan. 2003... I was pretty bummed! We are going to take a ride tommorrow to see the Ramada... it is definately closer then the Best western Jenny mentioned (which we have stayed at & it is nice, they are remodeling though & that is supoosed to be done in Sept. this year)

All Eastwind Brides!!

I got married at East Wind on June 9th and I just wanted to say that you all decided on a WONDERFUL place - I was so happy with everything there! The place looked gorgeous, the service was fantastic, everyone raved about the food! So many people asked how we found East Wind and how impressed with the place they were. One of my bridesmaids that was engaged even booked her wedding there a couple of weeks later! If any of you have any questions about anything with East Wind, feel free to post / e-mail me at [email protected]. Good luck to all of you! Karen PS - We stayed at Danfords Inn for our wedding night, but they were no good - they messed up some of the reservations (we booked 11 rooms and their mess-ups included my room, which was supposed to be water-view, but instead was Chinese-Food-Restaurant-and Parking-Lot view) and they didn't even care. The manager there was terrible. It's not worth the over-$200 a night that they charge you!

The showcase was nice, Bridal Suite of Patchogue had a fashion show, so I got some good ideas of dresses for the girls. By the way, we checked out the Ramada Inn which is beautiful and very close, but they would have a 2 nite minimum for July 4th weekend, so we went to the Best Western which is turning into a Radisson and doing 5 Mill. worth of renovations by November 1st this year. They seem to be EXTREMELY accomadating and there would be no minimum of nites from them and Radisson will honor any arrangements we make with Best Western, so we will go with them.
