We are having such trouble deciding where to go for really nice gowns with dependable service and quality alterations. We've all heard horror stories, I'm sure. I know everyone would love to hear what gown you chose for yourself, what your mother bought, your BM's gowns, where you got them from, and how satisfied you were with the alterations and overall service.
I really want my mother to be happy with what she wears. PLEASE share what experiences you've had with her gown.
Thank you.

Re: All gowns for the wedding...
What answer you get can very well depend on your mothers taste. My mom does not like the MOB dresses that she sees - so she has been looking at Saks, Nordstoms, Bendells - those places. She knows the service is great there in their formal departments - and most likely she won't need to get them altered.
Many friends mothers have gotten their dresses at Lord & Taylors and Bloomingdales as well - I would try the city thought I think they have a wider selection and better service. I also think those dresses look less doudy than many of the MOB dresses which make them often look very old. JMO

Oops. I should have said she wants a designer gown that doesn't look dowdy or like a grandma's dress and jacket. Thank you so much for pointing that out.
