Now I can say I know what everyone is complaining about when they say their families should mind their own business. My uncle kept going on and on and on that I am not getting married at church the day of my wedding... he went on and on about it... um.. he has 2 daughters who are young I can't wait until one of them says in 10 years she is getting married at her venue..

Im sorry hun...i really hate that when people try to stick there noses where it does not belong ...its your wedding not his and he has to realize that ...dont let it get to you though

I def got red and my eyes were watery and he still went on an on... I never really understood it when people said 'don't tell anyone anything' but now I know what they mean.

Tell your uncle how much it upsets you when he comments on this. How hard it is for you to disappoint him and if he could only kick in a few thousand dollars to cover the cost of church etc., maybe you could make it happen. Bet he shuts up fast.

ive learned that everyone has something to say so dont tell anyone anything! its sad bc this even includes one of my bridesmaids. im sorry about what your uncle said, it can be so frustrating! remember its your day and you do what you want!

This was another reason I did the surprise wedding. If no one knew I was planning it, they couldn't put their 2 cents in! Sorry girl :) it will be absolutely perfect, no matter what u do. End result is you are marrying your best friend and that is all that matters.

Ughhhh people really need to learn how to keep their mouths shut sometimes! Honestly, it's u & FH day, not ur uncle's. I understand how u feel tho... my FMIL keeps telling FH and I that we should just elope. It upsets me soo much bc he does everything for her and we've been sooo excited to have this big wedding with both our families and she just doesnt seem interested - I'm afraid to even mention the wedding around her!
As much as it sucks tho, u just have to let some things go in one ear and out the other... people are always gonna have something to say but in the end the only thing that really matters is that ur marrying the person u love and starting the rest of ur life together!

I hear ya. I wanted to get married at a church, but when I got engaged the automatic response was 'oh, where is Uncle Joe marrying you?' (he's a priest). My sister doesn't plan on getting married in a church and everyone has something to say.... just ignore them!! If you're happy that's all that matters!

Thanks everyone!!! Honestly I feel like everyone complains about everything. Last month my cousin got married in her church in Nassau county so we had to drive to the church and then got stuck in traffic so by the time we got home we had to change and go. Everyone complained the entire time. I really can't stand the complaining anymore. Now I am having my ceremony there so not driving in between and all I hear is complaining. Ok... new rules.. don't tell anyone anything.
