all inclusive for ~$2000 or less total??? (for whole trip!)
Is it possible? If so, where?
We are on a super budget and considering foregoing the HM, but we really don't want to.... I'll be a teacher, so it won't be able to be in October -- probably President's week in February....
what do you lovely ladies think? We just want someplace warm where we can veg.... neither of us are big on clubbing or things like that... so mellow, b ut with nice restaurants on premises and option to go out would be great....
TIA!!! :)

Jamaica- Club Ambiance is all inclusive. Small, nice resort, food was pretty good. All total with taxes pp. in June was $603 for 5 nights. Definately worth it!!!

I answered on th eother board, airfares are pretty high for President's week around here, if you could take a day or two off and go like Thurs-Thurs you could probably do it! Just travelling on the Sat or Sun on either end of the week (even on low cost carriers) is quite high.

We went Presidents week on ours, it was the airfare that got us. We paid $2k for the resort and $2500 for airfare!

i think you can do it, but only if you go for 4 days, not a week. alternatively, you can forgo all-inclusive resorts and stay at a lesser cost hotel

What months is Hawaii cheapest in?
FH says he saw airfare and 7 nights for $1200 directly after our wedding (but of course I can't take that week off as a teacher)... which sounded like an awesome deal to me....

I'm not sure if Hawaii has a 'cheaper' time but, that sounds like a great deal. Airfare itself is usually around $600-$700 per person.

WARNING - could be upsetting!!
I do not recommend going to the Dom. Republic to save money! When I was just out of college some girlfriends and I went there (instead of St. Thomas) because it was a hell of a lot cheaper and I was assaulted by a guy at the hotel....through this experience I have found out that it happens to a lot of people - whether you are there with your girlfriends or your husband. I'm not trying to knock the country as a whole, but think about why it is cheaper to go there - and believe me, it's not worth the $ you're saving!
I'd recommend Playa Del Carmen in Mexico because it is a sleepy kinda fisherman's town that is starting to gain popularity but the prices are still quite reasonable. FH and I went there a few years ago for less than $1000 each at an all inclusive place called Reef Club Playacar. It was excellent!

There are a lot of AI's in Mexico and its cheap. Try Secrets - FH and I originally booked 10 nights in the top of the line room for $5K (including air and transfers) so I'm sure for a lesser room (which still look beautiful!) and less nights, you can do it for $2K.
Also try Breezes.
