All-Inclusive Halls Pros/Cons?

Okay I am looking into possibly booking one of the halls that offer the all-inclusive packages. If anyone has done this at either
Douglaston Manor
Brentwood CC
Thatched Cottage
can you please tell me how it went for you and the pros and cons of it? Can you provide any names of the vendors that these places use for these packages so I can look into this?? Any information would be greatly appreciated. FM me if you need/want to.

Re: All-Inclusive Halls Pros/Cons?

My uncle got married at the Thatched Cottage a few years ago, 2005 and it was very nice. I was in the BP and remembered the bridal attendant was VERY nice. The outdoor cocktail hour was awesome and such a pretty setting. The food was great. He did however decide not to go with their all inclusive package. He booked everything separately and I think this was after meeting with a few of the all inclusive people. I don't think you have as many options when you go with their packages. You want to make sure you click with your vendors, especially people like your photog and dj... but I would have to imagine the all inclusive makes things much easier and less stressful in the long run!

Sorry I don't have any more info for you!

I haven't done this personally, but a woman at work's daughter did and I know that she had some issues with the restraints as to which vendors she had to use.

You're pretty much locked in and if you don't like what they have to offer there isn't much you can do about it!

It has it's advantages as well I'm sure-- but I think you lose a bit of freedom...

Good luck!

Thank you. I heard but not sure that if you don't like a vendor they will credit you that amount and you can pick who u want but I would have to pay then the extra money for what that vendor would charge. I guess I will go check these out and see what they offer. Thanks again

I went to the brentwood club to get prices etc. and what they credit for example if you don't go with their photographer then they credit you $1000 which is no where near enough to use someone else so make sure you factor that in to your decision cause it could still end up costing you...

Re: All-Inclusive Halls Pros/Cons?

I very briefly looked into one 'All-inclusive' package, but not to any of the halls you mentioned, and not on Long Island. We looked at one upstate NY near his parents house so I don't know how it compares to all-inclusive halls on LI.
We did not get into very much detail as we dismissed the idea and that hall shortly.

They basically had specific vendors all ready picked out. In terms of photographer and DJ we had I think 2 different companies for each to choose from (not 100% sure). It would be cheaper than if I was to book separately, however, my options were limited and there wasn't really room for negotiating with what you were getting. There were also 'hidden' costs, like if we wanted tall centerpieces vs low ones.

Also, as mentioned above, say I got my cake elsewhere (a big issue for my FH and I) we wouldn't get anything in place of the cake b/c it wasn't worth that much to them. (why bakers then charge us an arm and a leg for a cake is beyond me)

Sorry this probably isn't much help.. Good luck with your search!

I would suggest thinking about what is important to you and your FH first about your wedding and looking into an all-inclusive package to see if it fits your needs.
Each place may have it's own policies/procedures.

Re: All-Inclusive Halls Pros/Cons?

Looked at DM and BCC... really liked both of them a lot. We would have booked BCC only bc they do one wedding at a time, they close the club to members and they're not off a busy road. Besides, they have good food, their bathrooms are nice (newly remodeled).

I liked their pkg, but would upgrade or swap out vendors. For $13k on a Sat night with all vendors and invites accounted for... you cant beat it. Our guest list doubled though, so we had to pass. As for photogs... you can get their basic... talk to them and see if you can get all your images on hi res CD... if not...swap it out for your own and use the credit. Not alot of savings, but better all around if you're looking to save. A decent priced photog and nice guy is Nick G.... Only $1400+ tax... full day coverage... no overtime, unlimited pics, all yours, uploaded to website for you, all pics on hi res CD and no watermarks... you have full rights. So..you have options... www.nickgphotos.com or check out www.amessinaphoto.com
