We're thinking about doing an all inclusive but we don't want to go to the typical 'cookie cutter' type of all inclusive where you have to wake up at 7am to get a chair by the pool and where the food isnt that good. Does anybody know of a really nice, romantic, luxury all inclusive with delicious food & impressive pool? Thanks!
oh and we're going in mid july, possibilities so far are sandals st. lucia and royal hideaway but i've heard mixed reviews about R.H. and for some reason I'm hesitant on doing sandals because I think I'd like to do something different, perhaps more exotic? I really don't know what I want so I'm hoping you guys have some suggestions!!!

I was looking into all inclusives too....and everyone raves about sandals in St. Lucia. I would be a little more careful in July since it's technically hurricain season...normally it's safe then but i get nervous about that stuff. I hear Costa rica has some good all inclusives and is very exotic. I looked and there are also some in Beliz. Those are both pretty exotic, although when it comes to sandals they are the honeymoon experts so I am sure it's wonderful there.

We just came back from Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda in Riviera Maya Mexico. Pool was empty and very spacious. Food was really good too- even if people had some minor complaints about the resort, they all agreed the food was one of the best for an all inclusive. they are doing some construction on the resort (someday this will be huge!) so maybe not perfect for the honeymoon if you care about this stuff. but we liked it cuz you could also do lots of things off the resort - we went to see mayan ruins, went ATVing, speed boating etc.

Try Le Blanc in Cancun. We were there in February, it's adults only all-inclusive and was amazing!
I highly recommend the Sandals resorts!!!!! It was worth every penny and we loved it!!!!!! We stayed in the Bahamas!

We have stayed at Le Blanc in Cancun, Secrets Excellence in the Riviera Maya before the split and we went on our honeymoon to Excellence Punta Cana. One word; FABULOUS!!!!!!!!!
Although the resort in Cancun was newer and nicer laid out, the service at Punta Cana far surpassed it and the staff was MUCH more helpful and the food was F-A-B-U-L-U-O-U-S!!!! I knwo that people complain that the food at all-inclusives isnt great, but this was. The one in cancun is the sae company but while the food was good, the one in Dominican Republic far surpassed it. For one thing, they encouraged us to order as much as we wanted from the menu unlike in Cancun. it is all included but was our first time and we felt funny and awkward and they were not as open. In DR when i hesitated over two items and ordered one, the waiter brought out BOTH because he said he knew i really wanted them both I was sooo embarassed but he laughed and said he would bring me everything on the menu if I wanted it.
Also, they had TONS of seafood dishes every day which was something that Cancun lacked. Overall food was FABULOUS. The only complaint I had was that the resort wasn't as well laid out as the one in cancun and the rooms were not as new and nice, which was a benefit in cancun because it rained EVERY DAY lol.
We also got a HUGE discount for PC Excellence and when we were there we met folks who had gotten even better discounts. Since they split with SECRETS, they are trying to built their rep back up again so they give great discounts through travel agents. We went for literally half the price of our Cancun vacation. I reccomend it highly.

You can book any of the Sandals and use the facilites at all of them.. We are booking the Grand in St. lucia bc it has direct access to the beach. The Regency is on a cliff and the beach is a little harder to get to.

FH and I are going to Nannai Resort in Brazil. Its not AI- but it includes bfast, afternoon tea, and dinner. Drinks are super cheap though!! We originally wanted an AI- but couldn't pass up the chance to go to this place!
