I don't know if its the best, but its one of my favorites...
I was once walking to meet my dad. He was walking towards me, in the other direction but across the street. There was another girl, walking towards him and when I finally caught his attention, he said oh, I thought that other girl was you, but then I noticed she was ugly!
My dad NEVER talks about my looks ever (or anyone elses) he's more concerned that I'm smart, but I got a kick out of the way he said it b/c thats the most you can get from him!

When I was a lot younger and working as a cashier at a store,a customer asked me what I was doing working there,that I should be a movie star.

I'm 32 but people always guess my age at around 25. That's a pretty good compliment!

I met this male friend of a female friend (during a rough patch with my dh - he moved out for six weeks) at a party she invited me to. I was feeling incredibly down, self esteem was at zero, and I looked like hell. But there was this instant comfortable feeling between us and we chatted all night (he was going through a separation). At the end of the night - things got a little too comfortable - to the point where he wanted me to hang out with him all night (after the party, a group of people was taking a boat ride to this other friends beach club to go swimming, etc.). I turned him down because as comfortable as I felt with him, making my life more complicated was not something I was up for. My friend went along with the group and called me from the boat. Apparently he was talking all night about me and how I just walked into the party and totally captivated him. My head was swollen from that experience for weeks and made life more bearable while working things out with my husband because I realized if things didn't work out - life would go on.

The age thing would be one - hubby's family thought he was robbing the cradle when we first started dating - and he's 5 years younger than me! At the doctor's office a few months ago, the nurse wanted to know if I lived at XXX - she thought she had the wrong file because I didn't look at all the age of the person whose file she had.
I just got another one today - my supervisor was doing my review and she told me that the VP and the director of Operations are trying to steal me over to their department![]()
She said it was about the highest compliment I could get at the company, that they wanted me - but I don't want to move into what they seem to have in mind - I much prefer the career tract options I have in the departments I'm in.
She's going to do what she can to keep me where I am, or within her department.

A random woman that I see on the train told me that she was watching Dark Angel with her husband and turned to him in bed and said, that looks like the girl I ride the train with every day. I wish! But she got everybody on the train to think I was Jessica Alba.
No seriusly, the best compliment I got was from an older lady I was interviewing. I used to work as a recruiter for financial services straight out of college. As I was ending the interview, she said, you know, when I first saw you, I though you looked so young, but I have to say how impressed I am by how professional you are. It made my day.
