I'm sorry you're dealing with this so close to the wedding. It seems like all sorts of stressors are heightened during those last few weeks!

Does the friend that lives 15 minutes from the wedding know others who will be there? If so, I'd politely but firmly let her know that you simply cannot invite every single person with a guest due to space and budget constraints. Unfortunately, if she can't see that & still be happy for you, she probably wasn't that great a friend.

I have friends like that too so I just crossed them out ... this shows us who they are... i mean i have a girl who literally lives down the block from me and she says I can't go you didn't invite me with anyone and I don't feel comfortable driving... you can walk!! and you know my family and friends since preschool!! some people are just going to flake no matter what

I wouldn't cave and tell her to bring a guest..Your guest list is over 400! There is no way I would be inviting more people. If she doesn't want to come alone, then let it be.

That stinks, I totally understand. I told my single friends the other day that FH and I had to control our 300+ guestlist so we had to cut all '& guest' for single ppl. And my friends made a face. Sorry to say, but this is def something that can only be understood by someone in the same situation. Single people see it as us being mean to single people, when thats not even the case!!

ppl dont think! they dont realize that either everyone brings a guest, or no one brings a guest. trust me, I know how you feel. My FIL's told me I have to invite FH's aunt with a + guest. Ummm she's 60 years old! Her 3 kids will be there with their spouses! Her entire family will be there! Sorry, but you're 60 years old, I think you'll be fine. I'm not letting her bring a random stranger to my wedding. And if FIL's get mad at me then so be it. At the end of the day, its not about them!! Its about you and FH!!!
