hi guys.. so i went for a wedding yesterday > 500 guests.. This made me think of weddings in general..
We prepare for this day a year in advance, spent hours and hours planning and browsing through ideas etc.. In the end, when it comes down to it.. the day will pass by soo quickly!! Your guests may not notice all the little details and the prep work that went into it etc.
They basically talk to the other guests on the table, ate, gave the gift and left before the dance floor opened up.
Now this was my experience at the wedding I went to yesterday.. maybe becus it was a sunday wedding.. but still, it helped me root myself cus at the end of the day.. its just a few hours of your life. ahh.. all this stress / planning for a few wee hours? hmmm....
wuteva.. its worth it for the bride, groom, parents & bridal party..

Re: all this for 1 day
sometimes i think that too ('all of this for one day!') but people really do notice and appreciate the details. we got tons of comments about my dad's 50th and people definitely noticed the details there, and my parents went to a wedding yesterday and definitely noticed the details (or lack thereof)
some people will notice, some wont, but you need to do what will make you happy and proud

That is why I am going all out! I only plan on doing this once!! I am excited that my guest will experience my planning and work with my FH. I have 200 people or so that I think are important to me, that is what I am looking forward too,

Obviously the most important part of a wedding is the marriage itself but Im going through wedding planning withdrawals! I dedicated so much of myself to wedding planning and then the day went by so fast!!! I wish i could do it all over again. I know that sounds crazy but its one day that you and your fh get to express yourself and your style and put on a show so to speak for all your family and friends. Even though i complained every once in a while- i loved every moment of it! Enjoy it while it lasts- it goes so quick!!!

I completely agree...all this money and for what. Now that I look back I want to make my wedding memorable, but I also want to have some money left over for our future.

perfectly stated! I went from planning the wedding and having so much going on with work. Now i'm off from work for a few months and nothing to plan, definitely having some withdrawals! I had so much fun planning and it was all worth it! So many guests have called or emailed me telling me how great a time they had, and that makes me feel great!

It definately is so much stress and planning for one day!!!!
Its really crazy how fast time flies, and its kinda depressing when you think about it.
