almost disaster at my friends wedding!
So yesterday was my friends wedding-I got up early did my hair/make up and headed out to her house so all of us BM's could get ready together. Once we were dressed we began to help our bride (JW11897) get ready when the zipper on a bridesmaid dress broke! (the zipper was stuck at the top of the dress but was all open) we could NOT get the zipper to move! Mind you this was 2 hours until her wedding. So we pick up the phone and call Lynbrook bridal (they supplied all of our dresses) and we all begin to panic! We didn't have a car to take her there (an almost 20-25 minute drive) and they couldn't send anyone to us! One of the bridesmaids really took initiative and started screaming that it was there responsiblity to take care of it and that they HAD to fix it immediatly. So I go down stairs (I had been with the bridesmaid who's zipper was broken) and as I'm walking down the stairs....MY ZIPPER BROKE!!!!! We were soooooo furious with Lynbrook bridal. We finally realize (after almost an hour of trying to solve the problem ourselves) that we had to go there to fix them. We hopped in a car (1 hour before the wedding) and sped ALL the way there!LB was great when we got there. They had to rooms for us and they snatched the dresses as soon as we had them off and had them ready again within 10-15 minutes. We ran out the door and sped all the way back (we got to the church about 10 minutes late).
Unfortunatly we weren't able to take pics with Jess (the only bridesmaid that remained was her MOH), and we weren't there to see her get ready. I felt so bad that this happened-surprisingly she remained soooo calm and the rest of the day was WONDERFUL!!!!!!
BTW-the dresses were Bill Levkoff dresses, style # 502. The seamstresses at Lynbrook bridal said that they've had that problem with that dress before--I don't know if anyone is using that dress, but have your BM's test their zipper-both myself and the other BM kept saying that our zipper was sticking-and we both had problems with it sticking since our 1st fitting.

Re: almost disaster at my friends wedding!
That happened to my friend who was a MOH for her sister- it was an Alfred Angelo dress. MAKE sure to check and recheck all zippers before the big day!

wow...that really stinks. it was a good thing that they worked with you to take care of the problem. they should have let your friend now that they had problems with that dress in the past....glad everything ended up fine
