Almost officially decided...

Almost officially decided...

Well girls, tomorrow's the big day! Going to order my dress! Now that I got my cute ivory shoesies...I'm really not sure I want the ivory dress!!!!

Supposedly ivory 'looks better' on me, according to mom and saleswoman...even though I think white does. Dress sample is in ivory, and it's light. Difference between white and ivory swatches are negligible, so I figured I would stick with the known entity. Now I'm thinking I'll only have one wedding, and I might regret not having a white dress!

I don't know what to do...I'm afraid whichever decision I make tomorrow, I'm going to have major buyers remorse! Not the dress itself, but the color! I need to add this to the obsessing over things thread haha.

You will be fine! Its not like anyone will be following you around with a white swatch and say.... OMG your dress is Ivory. The shades are so close that no one will notice.
Did you try on any white dresses to see if it really looks better on you?

in the end you want to be happy... try on a white dress or two to see if you think there is a real difference !!

Go with what you want..to me their is a difference in the colors lol..white just didnt look good on me at all. Go back and put on both colors and you choose which one..not your mother or the sales lady.

I say wear what you really want. But just so you can see my dress is also Ivory but hardly noticable. I love the fact thats its not white white. I think it make sit look more vintage. But it has to be what you love most.

I know, I'll probably get the ivory. I tried on a white dress right after this one, and it was awful, mainly because it was a different designer and material, and not the style I would ever go for anyways, so I was just like BLEH.

I'll keep you all posted, and try to get some better pictures today!!! Thanks for the input!

I got a dress that was labeled 'ivory' but its really like an off white, its just not a stark bright white, which didnt look good on me. And the color i got you cant even tell its not white and doesnt look ivory at all. More like an off white. So I say if you like it go for it!

I would see if you could try on a different dress by the same designer in white.

its a very personal decision. My dress i picked was ivory, but I loved how white looked on me on other dresses. maybe ivory would be better for me (I am bad at this and got differing opinions by people), but i wanted white so i order white...i am a little nervous about it, but its done and i will love it! It just needs to fit...

maybe you could try on a dress by the same designer in white? Ivory does tend to look better on most people... but it depends on the designer I guess.

I ended up going with 'Diamond White'.... Maggie Sottero makes this shade that is in between white and ivory... much more flattering but still looks 'white'.

Chances are, Nobody will even know its ivory because they arn't holding up a white dress next to it, ya know?

Go with your gut!
