some braniac sent a shower gift to my house....I called my mom thinking she ordered something and she was like ugh please don't open it....apparently invitations are out but some people don't understand what the word surprise means
I've had gifts sent to brides after their shower date so I wouldn't spoil the surprise...
are people that dense?

i called my cousins MOH just for this reason. I couldn't make it to her shower but i still wanted to send her some gifts. I ended up buying and wrapping it all myself rather than have target send it to the wrong place and ruin the surpprise it pob cost mr a bit more in shipping to do it this way but at least my cousin was surpprised and had a wonderful shower

Was it something off your registry? If the item was out of stock, the store automatically ships it to the address you gave them. Maybe you could change the shipping address to your mom or one of your BMs until after the shower.

You are reg at macy's, aparently it is really easy to send it to the wrong house on that website!

I'm registered at Macys.....my address and my mom's is the same address right now since I'm still living at home....
Most of the things on my reg. are gone so I'm assuming it's from there.
I guess I just won't open anything that arrives...I'll make believe it's not here

Something very similar happened to a friend of mine....but it wasnt her fault...
When she signed up for bed bath and beyond she put her ship to address on file, and so some guests didnt realize that they had to unclick 'Ship to Couple', or scrolled right past it. She was receiving a couple of gifts all wrapped and realized what the problem was....

OMG I'm going through the same thing. FH's aunt called me freaking out b/c her daughter didn't get an invitation. What part of SURPRISE is that hard to grasp?? Her daughter got her own invite it just arrived a day later. Some ppl.......

people are that dense unfortunately........i guess they dont want to forget to send a gift so they do it right away......what you can do to avoid it happening again is change the mailing address on your registry to your moms house (if you dont live there anymore) or your ILs house so that you dont see any other possible gifts comin in the mail
