Almost The Big Day Excercise Thread Check In - 1/20

Original post by elysemichelle

Ok ladies :) So i have noticed im not the only one working my tail off to get into shape for the big day!!! I decided to steal this from the 07 boards!!!
I definitly agree that it helps to have support when it comes to working out, eating right and just getting into shape...... so ladies, each day (ill post in the mornings!) check in! tell us all how ur doing! its great to feel support and see so many other girls doing the same thing u r!!!!

If u r having a great day and realized you lost a lot of weight be proud and share it with excitement!!

if FH is on ur case to eat junk, or you just slipped that day and went off ur diet, vent!

we r all on the same page and with support will be able to keep each other going and working for the same goal:

To be the most fit on our wedding day!!!!!!!!!!

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! cant wait to hear how your all doing!!!

I definitely reccomend the book, its really about your eating lifestyle rather than a diet

Phase 1-the strictest phase, objective is to break your addiction to bad carbs and sugar-so your eating is limited to lean meat, veggies, low fat cheese, beans, fish...NO FRUIT, JUICE, SUGAR, BREAD....its really tough so you have to be mentally ready or you will cave by day 3 or 4..
This should last 2 weeks, no more than 3 (however I got totally psychotic and did phase 1 for almost 5 months....) Its also hard to exercise on this phase, I warn you...

Phase 2 you slowly reincorporate the right carbs into your diet by having 2 out of 3 meals a day incorporate a grain or natural sugar (i.e. certain fruits, whole wheat bread or pasta, etc)

Phase 3 is broader than phase 2 and really easy to stick with, b/c trust me you will realize the change in your body..

I lost 20 pounds on this diet (which was way too much, b/c I wasn't even heavy) and have managed to keep off half of it off the last year and a half. I just bought the new book, the supercharged south beach diet, so I will let you know how it is!
South Beach really helped me with how I ate food and gave me this whole 'what you eat to how you feel' sort of awareness I never had. The best thing about it is that if you slip up or go off the deep end (which I totally have the last 3 months) you just pick yourself up and go back to phase 1.
